Do you take vitamins and if you do, have you noticed a difference in your energy levels or overall health?
Years ago when l first began taking multi- vitamins there was no obvious difference in my feelings so l stopped after a few months. Now l try to eat balanced meals.
Presently the only vitamins l take are vitamins C, D3, and B Complex.
The B plus is recommended for vegetarians.
So what about you ? Do you take vitamins every day or none at all?

@Kandae11 Since I had skin cancer, doctors have told me to stay out of the sun as much as possible. My last doctor told me I needed to take D3, so I have ever since then.

@DaddyEvil. So you are okay now? I don't suppose you can be in the sun without sunscreen, can you ?

No, I do not take vitamins, we have more vitamin C from what we eat than we need. Our doctor told us to stop taking vitamin D3, the tests showed we do not need it and excessive doses of vitamin D3 can cause nausea, abdominal cramps and kidney damage.

@sjvg1976 - In winter we do not go out often, when you stay inside and there is lack of sunshine you usually need to take vitamin D3 supplements. The doctor told us never to take supplements without consulting him first. Those over the counter are quack medications and those serious need a prescription.

Nothing taken in excess is good for us, and l am sure responsible adults would know to take the right dosage.
I know that food is the best way to get the nutrients we need, but depending on one' s location and circumstances that is not always possible.
Not everyone can have a balanced meal - hence they resort to vitamins and supplements.

I take a multi vitamin every day if I don't forget.
I do pretty well just eating the foods in a relatively balanced diet. Like you, the benefits aren't noticed but I'm sure it helps to take them. I do take an Omega-3 krill oil supplement my doctor told me I should be taking but I can't tell if it helps lol.

I eat all of those fish too, mostly salmon and tuna lately. Fresh salmon and tuna from the ocean sure beats store bought or canned.

@Vikingswest1 Definitely, fresh is better than canned - even though canned is convenient. Canned salmon is a bit too expensive for me.

@luisga814. But vitamin. C is very important, you should use citrus fruits then . You can also get vitamin C from currants, cherries and bell peppers.

Sometimes I take sometimes not. I used to have a very painful feet in the morning. It hurts stepping down the stairs. I tried to take Vitamin B and I notice my feet pain disappear. Maybe it is a nerve pain

I am presently taking multi vitamins in gummy form, I do not know if they are really giving my system vitamins but they do taste like candy and I enjoy them,

@Kandae11 the way I look at it is that they do me no harm and if they do me good that is an added plus

I take B12, zinc, d3 and vegan omega 3, 6 and 9.
The only time I've noticed a difference is when I stop taking them, particularly the Omega 3, 6 and 9.
I have a reasonably healthy diet but B12 and omegas can be difficult to get from food if you're a vegan (which I almost am aside from the occasional egg and the odd bit of cheese).

@Kandae11 Mike and I started taking these years ago and neither of us gets colds/flu.
The last time I had either one has to be 20+ years ago. Mike, he has only be really sick (flu) once in our 30 year marriage.
I am thankful that they seem to help us avoid the cold and flu.

I take Centrum Silver Vitamins daily. I also take a separate D3 pill daily. I think they help my immune system.

I take vitamins every morning to keep me healthy since the orders came from my eye doctor about three years ago. It works on keeping my eyesight in good shape.

I take vitamins with vitamin C, B and zinc sometimes but taking vitamins everyday generates heat in our body so I avoid them in summer.

I used to take vit c and fish oil but those supplement pills had side effects to my body. Taking vit c, i will have insomnia, i could not sleep at night even though i take it in the morning. Fish oil, my period stops for 2 months straight! When i stopped both, everything went back to normal
