My Heart Took a Hard Hit

These past few weeks I’ve been quite busy. I tried to spend as much time with my mom as I possibly could. I had a premonition that she wouldn’t make it to her birthday which was in August.
Little Miss and I went up almost every day. Sometimes we bring our lunch and eat while I fed her her lunch. For a while she would take all of her lunch and drink plenty. That slowly changed as time went on.
I was able to get a few smiles out of her. Couple of words yes or no only and occasionally she would say I don’t know. Her smiles are what I lived for.
Yesterday was my last visit with her and I knew that she was going to pass. She was struggling to breathe. She wouldn’t take any fluids nor any food. When I left I kissed her and told I loved her. Little Miss kissed her and said she loved her.
My mom passed away early this morning. I know that she was greeted with open arms by the loved ones who had gone before her. And she is now watching over us and waiting for our time to pass. At which time she will greet us with a smile and open arms and call us all by name.

How very sad. I am so sorry. I lost my mom who was in a nursing home. I spent the last little while with her and watched her take her last breath. She and my grandma are now my guardian angels.

The last visit I had with her I knew that it would be the last. I kissed her and told her I loved her.

@RubyHawk my heart still suffers over the loss of my niece and uncle. With mom’s passing it is an open wound again.

@ElusiveButterfly I understand. My son passed away and then my mate. Words cannot express the sorrow of our loved ones passing. We never get over it but we learn to live with it.

I know, my Mom passed 5 years ago 31st of July. Grieve freely, no it doesn't past & probably never will. I miss my Mom, dearly. Memories and memory lane now. We did all we could, they were cared for, till the end.1 person likes this

And moments like this are why we spend the time visiting , helping, feeding, loving our family members. I remember your mom online from years ago and I know you have a huge number of memories all stored up. May they, and the good Lord, comfort you.
