A Day To Pamper Your Cat.

Today, August 8, 2022 is "International Cat Day" . A day to celebrate man's ' most common and ancient friends' and to raise awareness of ways to safeguard cats from cruelty. So today, apart from pampering your cat with special treats and hugs, there are other things you can do on Cat day. Like volunteering at a Cat shelter or you might finally make up your mind to adopt a cat or you can visit the zoo and watch some of the really big cats. An interesting fact about cats: The cat's brain has 300 million neurons as compared to dogs with 160 million neurons. This very high octane brain power fuels their intelligence. Do you have a cat? What makes your cat special to you? Do you prefer a dog or cat as a pet.? Picture shows the Ragdoll breed of cats, they are known to be very affectionate.

There is a special day for this??? I mean, cats get their way every day, twice on Sunday's for Heaven's sake. One thing about cats, they definitely rule the roost. Our cat's name is Grayson and we do have the warehouse cat Cal at our house often. I used to prefer dogs, but lately cats seem so much easier, especially when we travel, and we travel a lot.

I love the name Grayson for a cat - it sounds kind of intelligent, but then cats are intelligent. what color is he? Yes cats are in charge.

@Kandae11 Grayson is a gray and white cat. Cute as buttons, but of course we are biased. Here's a picture of him.

May I pamper my fishies instead? They won't put me in the hospital with allergies.

I dont own a pet but I would prefer to have a cat over a dog as cats are easy to take care of. I knew cats are clever animals but didn't know the logic behind them. Thanks for sharing the fact about the brain of cats.

I have a cat. His name is Tinker, and I love him like crazy! My avatar picture is him as a kitten, so you can get an idea of what he looks like. He is so, so, so spoiled, but I can't help myself! I love dogs, too, but not quite as much as cats, and they're more work to take care of them.

I think dogs are more work because they have to be walked or at least let outside to go potty, so you have to be home by such and such a time to do that. Other than that, they're about the same.

What a pretty fluffball cat! We don't have cats, but we know plenty of people who do. We have some allergies here and cannot have pets with fur - so we have a parakeet .

Oh, thanks for reminding me, I will give some extra treats to my cat. My cat is an adopted cat, I did not really want one, but a family who moved to an apartment abandoned him here and I gave him a roof, poor boy.

@Kandae11 I am a Siamese addict. This guy came from a local animal shelter. He had another name but hubby and I are writers. We like to play with words. I wanted to call him Teak and hubby suggested Beau Teak so we did it. Bouquet? Kind of sounds like that or you could call him Handsome Teak!

British Shorthair. I was not aware of the many different breeds until l did some research for this post. Apart from Shorthair, there is the Ragdoll (shown in the picture) the Siamese, Norwegian Forest cat, Sphynx, Bengal, Siberian among others.
