I am tired and have no urge to eat spaghetti for some time. We started a little before noon and I finished the water bathing about 10:30. About 9 hours worth of canning today. We did take about a 90 minute break while dinner cooked and we ate. All that is left is making sure all of the jars sealed and putting them away. Tomorrow is my grocery shopping day. When I get home from that I plan on relaxing most of the day. I have earned it. Hoping that my shopping trip goes fast. I do still need to write out my shopping list. Sadly my lottery numbers didnt win yet. Hope you had a good day.

We bought six jars of pasta sauce today while grocery shopping. That should be enough for a couple of months. I bought some frozen foods so I don't have to cook as much for a month. I'm tired of cooking now. Have a good, COLD, night! (It's supposed to reach 56F before morning with a high tomorrow reaching 65F... Pretty will be wearing a winter coat all day tomorrow. )

I make spaghetti at least once a month. Sometimes twice. I did that 2 weeks ago. Glad I did as I had a few days I didnt want to cook this time. I havent looked but we were supposed to get in the 40s. It is very cool out this morning

@wolfgirl569 I make spaghetti about twice a month and it lasts three days every time. It was 54F at 6 am and has only gotten up to 56F and raining outside at 1:05 pm. Pretty is complaining about it being cold in the house... It's 72F. I just offered her my snuggie. (She packed hers away when we moved in here and mine has been hanging in my closet all this time.)

You reminded to me when we did the same at my granny's house, hundred of bottles of pasta sauce. I will go on Friday grocery shopping. Let's see how much the pasta price has increased from last week.

I certainly hope the pasta did not go up in price again.

@marlina Tomorrow I will know. Pasta price was $ 1 per Kg before the war started. When I bought more during the month of July I paid $ 1.29 and last week it was $ 1.59, that means 59% up from the old price. I am glad I bought several kilos at 1.29.

You could have come up and stayed this summer. I have over 100 pints of green beans. 30 or so of jelly. 20 or so quarts of tomato juice.

Wow, that's a very long day canning. It will take up a fair amount of storage space too.

Hope you're shopping day goes the way you want. You're very ready for winter. My day ok. Bought fresh beet, finished cooking it. Ate the tops this morning, yum. Going to get Saturday's food, at Marukai, nearby weather permitting.

I rather miss canning. It was always so nice to reach for a jar or two and know it was there, and it tastes so much better than store bought. But I honestly don't have the room. I do freeze things instead, but I still miss the canning. I know it's a lot of work.

Some of the tomatoes were finally starting to get soft. So we just kept going to get them done.
