Four Blue Jays At Deck Feeder

Each winter I start feeding the birds at my deck feeder. I buy the whole unsalted peanuts for them. I buy them in bulk to save on the cost. Many birds visit like the Blue Jays (in the photo), Cardinals, Doves, Woodpeckers, and many more.
I started early this year, since the weather has been colder than usual. We are still in the fall season but freezing temperatures lately.
I enjoy watching the birds from the inside. I also keep the bird bath with fresh water for them all winter. Lately, every day it has been frozen. And each year I usually see a new bird. So far the same ones have been visiting the feeder. Later in the season, I might see new ones.
Today was a nice day full of sunshine. I didn't put out as many peanuts as on the cold days. I manage to get a few photos when I get the camera setup inside. This one was taken from behind my patio door. I have to move slow, not to scare them off to get the photos.
I enjoy these little things in life. Feeding the birds. Photographing the birds. And I enjoy watching my two cats watch the entire process from inside. The Dude talks to them all the time. They are both so entertaining.
Photo is mine.

@CarolDM I see loads too but if I open the door while they are in the bird bath they fly away. I therefore keep the door open before they arrive and use the zoom feature. I take videos too and extract photos from there using VLC
The attached photo is an extract of a video using the VLC media player

@Deepizzaguy I only feed them this time of year. They have bugs to eat the rest of the year.

I love to watch the birds from inside also, and like you mentioned, if you are still you pose no threat and you see them as they are naturally. We used to have the most handsome male cardinal at our place out in the country, and I would sit and watch him for so long during the cold winter months.
He loved himself.
One day he perched himself on the window ledge of our son's car and he noticed his reflection in the sideview mirror. Only I do not think he realized it was his reflection. He sat and pecked at that mirror and moved this way and that way for about 45 minutes. I was in stitches watching him.

This time of year, that is the only way I can see them. Those cardinals are very special indeed. My Dad is out there in my yard. I say that every time I see one. I have to be careful to keep the blinds drawn or they will run into the doors at their reflections.

How wonderful they are such beautiful birds. We had gray skies and rain all day. Happy Thanksgiving to you and I will be online as usual but might take a break in the afternoon. I can understand Dude talking to the birds, but I have no idea what Ringo wants to say until he clears up his language, but all day it is something.

I now have a family of Blue Jays who greet me each morning with a squawk for food, actually peanuts. I have a little feeder attached to my window where they take them. They are "nuts" about peanuts

@snowy22315 Yes and many have squirrels around. None here. I would change the food if the squirrels were around.

Beautiful birds. The Indian blue jays are a little different from the ones that you have shown here. How does Dude talk to them?
