3 mistakes hopefully my streak is over

I just keep messing things up the past few days. On thanksgiving while my husband was out hunting I washed his cardigan at his request and I shrunk it. It no longer fits him but fits his son who likes it but looks like an 80 year old man when he wears it instead of 16. We went to his parents house for thanksgiving dinner but didn’t get to stay for dessert since we had to go to my parents house after. I was the only one to make desserts there and both had pumpkin which my husband hates. So today I thought I would make a peanut butter pie. I got it almost totally done and when I tried to beat the lite cream it wouldn’t form peaks. I googled it and find out only the heavy cream does which all the stores were out of. There was one more thing that happened that I missed up on but it isn’t worth mentioning. If things come in threes like I’ve always heard then my messing things up streak should be over. Photo is the Brie and crackers I made for thanksgiving to take to my mother in laws.

Messing things up naturally occur sometimes. We dont like it to happen, we dont intend to do it but it happens. We can't do all things right

@magallon that is true nothing we can do about it unfortunately. If the cardigan hadn’t coated my husband $160 I wouldn’t be as worried about it. He didn’t get mad thankfully but I cried before he got home because I was so worried about telling him.

@Jamalbawu1212 the garlic covered Brie wasn’t good at all but the pecan one was delicious! I’m going to try making the garlic one again but do it differently.

When two mishaps happen you wait for the third and breath a sigh of relief (lol) Good you finally got the heavy cream and your dessert was a success.

@allknowing I just never realize it’s been three things until I count after getting so frustrated over things. The pie was so good my husband gave me compliments which he usually doesn’t. We got in a huge fight days ago and he has been better since thank god. I told him things that were very unfair around here with him.

@shaggin The moment you feel a fight is on the cards you should just leave and come back later when the situation diffuses.

I hope that the bad things are over and you are going to have a great day. You need full cream to make whipped cream, the lite does not work.

@LadyDuck yep now I know lesson learned. I was able to get heavy cream at the supermarket in town finally and finished my pie today. I can’t wait for dessert. Todays the first day I’ve been able to eat much since thanksgiving. I’ve been to stressed to stomach food.

It really seems sometimes that things happen in threes but in your case it was in fours.

@Judyev shrunken cardigan, not having heavy cream to finish the pie, and the one not worth mentioning is 3. Thanksgiving break was awful but these were just three things that I personally messed up.

@Tampa_girl7 I was assuming it had to be something like that as I couldn’t find it at any of the stores. It’s back in all the stores this week though.

@Tampa_girl7 when all we had was light cream my husband was using that in is coffee but now that we have heavy cream he opened they and is using that. That will make the light cream go bad if it doesn’t get used up soon. The same thing happened last time and it’s way to costly to waste!

Hopefully your run of mistakes is now over. I smashed a glass this morning. I was carrying a whole armful of things downstairs - a bundle of washing, a scarf to hang up, a torch, a tube of hand-cream, a book and the glass I had with water beside my bed. When I got to the kitchen I put almost all the things on the table and then dumped the washing in front of the machine and there was an almighty smash!

@Fleura the baby broke one of my bowls today. She got in the cupboard and smelled the only two glass things in there together. Oh well

@shaggin Quite a lot of pieces but I think I got them all (although there is always the risk that a few shards went underneath the washing machine to be found later!) At least the glass was empty

Fret not, all things pass. We all got days like it. You know what...my wall plugs that comes in pairs wouldn't let me push the plug in one of the plugs. Fearing, fire hazard, I texted me my Resident Manager, in evening, Thanksgiving Eve. Thanksgiving Day, Resident Manager, stopped by for a look. Why couldn't it happen a few days earlier during office hours?!!! All set fy cream filled horns, all out. Swanson vitamins has great sales, got bilberry, which locally in stores is 3-4 times expensive, then I noticed shipping to Hawaii, jumped up twice the amount. Still cheaper than buying locally. No choice but to pay for astronomical shipping. But.... good days, much more abundant. In the other hand, your son got a coat he likes, everyone else enjoyed pie. Making a just for husband pie, is romantic!

@oahuwriter That is terrible that the local prices are so high that even with higher shipping costs it’s still cheaper then buying local. He appreciated the pie tonight. He liked it a lot. We all did. My stepson really didn’t need a cardigan that coat so much. Hopefully my husband does his own laundry if he buys another one as I just am so worried it will happen again.

@GardenGerty so true. He actually told me too that it’s cotton so if I had listened to him I would have just put it in the dryer as well and I can only imagine how small it would have been after that. I looked at the label and saw it was wool and was going to wash it in cold water but my stepson came out right then to ask if he could shower so I waited to do the load. When he was done I started the wash on my usual warm water cycle. It was all full and I said oh no and switched it to cold for the rinse cycle but it was too late.
