We all need cheer leaders in our life

I would say Bob's doctor is very much a cheer leader for him. He had a one month follow up with primary care. She says he is doing really well. When she makes changes, she tells us why she is doing so. We can frankly discuss whatever we choose to and she is respectful and encouraging. He is adding back in the full dose of the medicine that slows his heart and makes it beat stronger. She says that will increase his energy. He has gained about nine pounds this month. We will see her again in a month. We left her office feeling encouraged.

I'm glad he's doing well. It must be nice to have a doctor who listens and cares about your concerns.

She does listen, and when I say "well I read this" she listens. Considers it. She gives us credit for what we know.

We also have a great doctor, he always explain things and, most important, he listens and takes notes of everything we explain.

Exactly how it should be. Patients are people, and are individual in their needs.

@GardenGerty You are right, patients are people, for too many doctors they are only an "annoyance".

Makes such a difference to have a good communication line open with the doctors. This all sounds wonderful.

@GardenGerty Oh, that's good to know. On Sunday we had a light sprinkling of snow, but it didn't take long to melt.

@sharonelton If it snows here I would wish for a large amount. It will not happen soon, though.

Soooooo what's your docotors name? I want one just like her but around here I've only found one doc that might be a really good one, at least I hope so. Good to hear that Bob has gained weight.

Dr. Amanda Baxa--She is young, has five kids, and has a doctor husband as well. Very active, interested and we trust her to juggle all these other doctors a lot.

I understand that when she graduated from medical school a larger community tried to recruit her, but we are glad she is here.

That’s so great to hear!!! So many doctors have completely forgotten what they used to call “bedside manners,” so it’s refreshing to have one who realizes that it’s a human being they’re talking to and not an insurance company statistic!!!

I think doctors who practice in small communities do better. Anyway that has been our experience.
