Living In The Woods

United States
December 11, 2022 12:25pm CST
As you all know I live in a very wooded area. Every since I saw these animals attacking kids, it has made me wonder what all can be lurking in the woods. I already don't go out at night, these kids were attacked in the city, and at daylight, so you know I am on wonder. I know there are deer, but wonder what else. Whenever I go out I am more watchful now than I used to be. I have other dogs beside Odette. Just hope they got my back.

That's scary! Where I live the wildest thing we're likely to see is the drunks coming out of the bars late at night

No bars here. Plus it is extremely dark.

Thats unusual for wild animals to attack humans, usually they only do that if the human has provoked them.

It happened in Los Angeles last week a coyote attacked a little girl, tried to drag her off. Her dad chased him off.

Oh wow, yeah, I forgot about those coyotes, you really have to watch out for the little ones because coyotes are looking for food and a small child is just a food item to them. It does make me wonder why a small child was outside alone.

I do not believe that the deer attack humans, may be coyotes or other wild animals.

@popciclecold Many areas that is done and they lose the natural fear of us. But they still are wild animals so will act like wild animals. Coyotes get dangerous when they get too many in an area. Some places around us have that problem.

I worry about that a little bit here too as there is the possibility of many things lurking around, but most are out in the evening or at night and I am not walking around then.

Hmm, coyotes only thing I worry about here. I used to let dogs off leash and Brooklyn is size of coyote and they will challenge that/ Anything bigger they will not and I seen one measuring up Brooklyn and licking its chops but why we got Kai, they will not mess with the size and homie is like lets move on. My old German Shepherd used to chase them, was rather funny. I guess Brooklyn has too, but that was scary as like a trap and then pack could attack her.

Children seem to be considered prey. I think most animals will scare off when loud noise is presented however?

I live in a very populated and polluted city in India. You may have heard the name Delhi, it is very crowded that even human beings dont have a place to live so how can animals enter the city? It's scary, you must be watchful when you go out.

Usually wild critters are more afraid of humans than humans of them. Unless the animal is rabid.

Yes, going off into a wooded area can be dangerous. You have an obstructed view, hungry animals, and maybe even criminals looking to rob you, especially if you don't have neighbors close by.
