A seat made from horse-shoes

At this house-sit, we are very close to another property where we stayed. Both places have things made from horse-shoes. I wrote about the horse-shoe horse which is at the other place. You can see a photo of it here if you want: https://www.mylot.com/post/3521691/a-horse-made-of-horse-shoes At this house, a fancy seat has been welded from iron horse-shoes. It’s okay but not my favourite piece of farm art. And I think you would need nice thick cushions on the seat and up the back before it would be comfortable.

I like the originality. I suppose that’s much better than throwing the old shoes away, and many people would enjoy it as a “conversation piece.” Even, as you said, if it took six-inch-thick cushions to make it comfortable enough to sit on.

I was going to say I'd want lots of cushions before I sat in that chair.

They are big horse-shoes too which would make the discomfort more pronounced too.

@JudyEv We had some outside furniture made from Shetland pony shoes when we lived on the farm. We still put cushions on them before sitting on them, though.

I agree with you on the comforts of the seat. But an interesting and creative way to make something out of a horseshoe.

@JudyEv Perhaps their main aim is purely cosmetic and not to provide a comfy seat..

As it's out in the open, you wouldn't want to leave cushions on it all the time.

It looks as though it would be a bit hard on the bottom.

The seat made of horseshoes looks really nice. It is probable just to look at not to sit in.

I recall the neat horse in a precious post. I do think this chair is neat but not very pretty and nothing I’d want. You are right doesn’t look very comfortable either. Would look nice maybe with a huge blooming flower pot sitting on the seat.

That would be a better use for it - a colourful flowerpot on the seat.

I immediately thought that without cushions would not be comfortable, but it's pretty.

I quite like the cowling affair over the top but it needs cushions and/or coverings.
