Friday Morning Brief

Good morning.
Today will be a non-day. I hurt my rib on Monday and until late last night, I have been able to do fairly well with everything. That changed last night. Now, I can't move without extreme pain. Even typing hurts.
So, no exercise or pool today. I'm in my jammies for the day. I'm going to hope I can move better by Sunday. I really want to go to church. The other option would be to ask them to come here to the community room. We've met here before, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I sent a message to one of the women in the exercise group to come to get the tapes. She knows I hurt my rib. So do a couple of other women from the group who were on hand when I hurt my rib.
I didn't get much sleep last night and might end up sleeping in the recliner today with the massage pad on.
So, not a good report for today. Though I do have my Bible study done and managed to get one of my games done. The other I can't play for another hour.
Okay, that will be my day. I'm going to try and get some work done on a book too. We'll see how it goes.
How is your day shaping up? Are you beginning, in the middle, or at the end of your day? Here, the sun isn't up yet. It's almost 4 AM.
Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. This is better than what I'm looking at right now.

If you're looking at snow actively coming down (as am I) you probably won't see the sun today at all. And you know that today is Friday the thirteenth... take care.

@LadyDuck Right, there's nothing a doctor can do, so I don't bother going to a doctor and have an unnecessary bill. I'll be resting a lot until I can move better. I will be missing the pool again.
I'm sure the fettuccini will taste great!

@just4him Uhm... you know the more you type the longer it will take to heal, right?

@DaddyEvil Yes. I know that. I wish I didn't need to breathe. It would be much better on my ribcage. Or move, or do anything. I think I would like to be a sloth today as they barely move.

No, I didn't fall. With as fragile as my ribs are, it didn't take much. I only leaned over to pick my phone up off the floor when it fell out of my pocket while I was on the exercise bike a week ago today. Thankfully, it's not broken, but it is painful. I'm starting to do things again, getting my steps, but today the pool is out of the question. I had a rough night with my rib. The weather report this morning showed why with the aches and pains report. I'll be very happy when it heals. Some days are better than others.

There's nothing a doctor can do. They're not broken. Usually, when I have a broken rib, I can feel the two ends rub together. Nothing is rubbing, so it's only bruised. Yes, I've had many broken or bruised ribs in my life. So, they're fragile and don't take much to bruise or break them. I'm thankful I haven't broken one in a while now.

Better is relative. I'm better than I was, but still have a long way to go before it's completely healed.

It usually takes a couple of days. I only need to move wrong for it to come into focus and hurt more than when I hurt it.

I know how much that can hurt. Last month, my son had a bad fall and broke 3 ribs. We have been fighting off pneumonia, as of course he doesn't want to take deep breaths, it hurts, so he wants to breathe shallowly. After another urgent care visit, son was convinced if he wanted to avoid pneumonia, he had to do the deep breathing even though it hurt him so much. I am so, sorry you had this happen to you, rest today and take care of yourself.
