Sunny Monday

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a sunny morning here so that always makes me smile. It's also the last Monday of this month so another month has flown by. Speaking of the weekend it flew by also. My daughter went away to spend time with a few friends so after we did our grocery shopping on Saturday morning she left and came home in the late afternoon on Sunday. I don't mind being home alone but it is a little weird not having anyone to talk to. I know if I had to live alone I could but I really don't think I would like it. In fact, I've never lived alone. After high school I went off to nursing school and had a roommate, after I graduated I got married, had children, got divorced, kept the kids (lol), they got married and at some point moved back in (not all at the same time) and then my mom moved in with me when she couldn't live alone anymore. My daughter moved back when she got divorced and here we are. Throughout all these years there has always been a time when someone was/is living with me. If I was playing that party game Never Have I Ever I could say I've never lived alone. I wonder how many other people could say that?

I have never lived alone either and don’t relish it.

I don't think I would enjoy it. I've become so accustomed to having someone around and the activity that comes with it.

More than one or someone has always been around throughout most of my life. However , there were periods when l was alone for 2 weeks , 6 months - and the longest 2 years.

There have been times in my life when I wished I lived alone but now at this age I don't know if I'd want to. I like being alone for short periods of time but not permanently.

I have never lived alone. I lived with my parents when I was young. I got married at 20 and I have always been with my husband.

@Marilynda1225 Sorry for your Mom. My mother refused to come to live with me or to live with my brother, who also lived in Milan (Italy) 10 minutes drive from her.

@LadyDuck my mom didn't have much choice as she was incapable of taking care of herself after that fall. She wasn't very happy having to give up her home but after awhile she adjusted but there were times that she was difficult to live with.

I guess it isn't as unusual as I thought it would be.

Good morning. I have lived alone several times and for several years at a time over my life. I don't mind... There were always friends in and out of my house during the daytime and I relished the peace and quiet when they weren't here. I usually spent a lot of time reading books, working on different projects that interested me and working in the yard. Pretty has mentioned moving in with her boyfriend in Georgia one day and I know I'll miss her but she has the right to live her own life as she sees fit. I think it's mean for you to tell us how beautiful and sunny it is at your house when snow, freezing rain and sleet is falling at my house. I won't wish any of the bad weather on you, though. Stay warm and safe in your part of the world.

@Marilynda1225 *sigh* I would have rather just had snow. The sleet froze together so everything is buried under over an inch of ice now. I'd rather Pretty didn't move out but I won't stop her, either.

@DaddyEvil seems like your part of the country is really getting hit hard with bad weather. Maybe Pretty can get her boyfriend to move closer to you both??

Karma came around and I woke up to a coating of snow on the ground after my bragging about our sunny day yesterday. At least we didn't get all that snow, freezing rain and sleet that you got. Looks like the temperatures will drop in the next few days. I completely understand Pretty has to live her own life if she decides to move to Georgia to be with her boyfriend. My daughter moved back in with me when she got divorced but I don't expect her to not live her life just to stay here with me. At some point I assume she'll move out if and when she meets someone else

That's great you've always had someone living with you. I live alone. Sometimes I don't like it, but most of the time I do because I don't need to clean up after them or be on their timetable. Though, I did like it when my son lived with me. I do miss that at times.

Living alone and living with someone has advantages and disadvantages. There have been times in my life when I would have enjoyed living alone but now I enjoy my daughters company and glad she decided to move here when she got divorced.

@just4him you always seem to be busy and have friends to do things with so you're lucky in that regard.

@Marilynda1225 I am glad you had a nice sunny morning for the last Monday in January. We also had a nice Monday but today it is raining out. Good to be inside when it rains. Unfortunately today it was raining when I went out and since I got a late start and things were not going very well I decided to stay close to home and do some things instead of more.

@Marilynda1225 Actually it is Friday now and have to do something else and then turn the TV on and work at the computer till I have to get off for your Sabbath. I stayed close to home and did not get much done so have more to do next week if can.

I guess I have lived with people most of my life. However, living alone isn't too bad. If I want to talk to someone the phone is close by, and of course I always talk to my pets.

Not me, I've only had 3 female room mates and 1 boyfriend move in with me, all of them turned out badly. I doubt I'd ever be able to live with people again.

January always seems to be the longest month and just drags on and on but here we are at the end and a new month begins tomorrow.

I have never lived alone either. I stayed at home until I married, and have been living the dream with him ever since. We have a little family joke, our son will say that if Dad goes first, I will be gone within a week, and if not, he will move me in with them. I just hope that if that happens in the reverse order, that they take Dad in, I don't know if he could live alone either.

My kids moved back in after they married for one reason or another so I figured at some point if I can't live alone I'll move in with them

I've never lived alone either but, if the circumstances were right, I'd give it a go. I did spend six weeks alone when Vin went to Nepal so perhaps that counts.

I don't mind spending periods of time alone but I don't think I'd want to live alone permanently. Maybe when I was younger there were times when I would have loved time alone. I guess there are more of us who never lived alone than I thought.

I lived alone for a time after I threw my roommate out. I don't like living alone at all. I was alone for a month when my husband was in the hospital and rehab. I hated it.

My mother often says she has never lived alone. I have lived alone for awhile. My Monday was ok. I did some more of my diamond painting. Saturday I got my hair cut with my mother. My mother's birthday was Sunday, but I didn't spend the day with her on Sunday.

I have lived alone. At that point in my life, Mike and I were dating, and I was working 3 jobs. When I was home it was to take a shower and sleep. Being alone didn't bother me. Now that I have been married 31 years I don't like thinking about being alone.
