What would they do without me

An extra bathroom would be amazing but so would a few minutes to myself. I was cleaning the shower tonight while my husband was watching the baby. He has given his outside dog who is sick and inside a bath so the tub needed a scrubbing after. In the time it took me to clean the tub/shower and start the shower so I could clean myself I had been interrupted 5 times. The first was my oldest daughter asking where my stepson was. He was watching a basketball game and she had a funny photo she wanted to show him. Second time was my son coming in to tell me he learned a hard riff on the keyboard and showing me the video. Third my husband came and asked where the baby wipes are. The usual container in the living room was empty so I grabbed the ones in the diaper bag for him since I couldn’t find the ones I bought today. Fourth my daughter came back to give me a few empty grocery bags, a purse and some gift bags she didn’t want. Fifth time was my husband bringing the dirty diaper in to put it in the diaper pail. After that I thought I heard another knock but when I got done doing what I was doing and opened the door no one was there. Either I was hearing things after being distracted so many times or someone was to impatient to wait for me to open and unlock the door that they went away. If that is the case I should have done that to begin with.

@wolfgirl569 I have to stay up much later then everyone else to get any time to myself and very rarely do I sit and relax then I usually clean so I can wake up to a clean house.

@shaggin I did that while the kids were growing up

@shaggin I did that when the kids were little, all the time. It seemed I was always on the run. My son said once to his wife that it was hard to sleep at night because the washing machine wasn't on! I always loaded it up one more time before I crashed in to my bed.

OH MY! We cannot ever have peace. I know that my husband calls me every time he is looking for something. I cannot understand why he cannot see things that are in the drawers exactly at the same place since we moved here 23 years ago!

@LadyDuck oh gosh I am getting a good laugh at what you wrote about your husband but it has to be a bit frustrating for you after 23 years. It reminds me of me as a kid I could never find what my parents were telling me even in front of my face. But I was a kid he isn’t .

@shaggin Sometimes my husband gets me mad. For him it's too easy to ask, he does not even look around.

I instantly thought of my nephew after reading your post. He's roughly the equivalent of like five people. He would ask me three more questions before I could answer the first, while I'm busy.

He is. He used to be a quiet kid but I taught him to be more vocal. I'm beginning to regret that.

@Tina30219 yep the baby goes everywhere in the house that I go. She’s asleep in my arms at the moment so I’m spending some time here relaxing.

@shaggin At least most of the kids are grown and can fend for themselves all you really have to worry about is the baby. And you still need time for yourself

@sallypup yep one bathroom for 6 people. Thankfully the baby is still small and doesn’t take up a lot of time in there. But my oldest daughter gosh!

@shaggin I can't imagine. Hubby insisted we turn an upstairs bedroom into a bathroom. Now I'm glad he did. It's just two people here but fantastic to have a bathroom on each floor.

@RebeccasFarm that is sweet but I still know I don’t have any real talents. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about I just think some people don’t excel at anything

Being the mom is the hardest job in the world. You can't even find time alone in the bathroom but at least your hubby changed the baby and didn't leave the dirty diaper for you when you finished in the bathroom.

@Marilynda1225 if my husband has to use the bathroom he leaves her in the kitchen. He thinks it’s weird to have her in there with him. She goes everywhere I go I don’t find it weird I find it safer. I’m very glad he changed that diaper he usually doesn’t.

@Kandae11 I kind of did over having to wash my husbands dishes. I refused to wash him cups for about a month and we came to an agreement I’d wash them if he stops yelling all the time.

@CarolDm it doesn’t happen unless I stay up very later after everyone has gone to bed which then I usually am just cleaning not really getting any relaxation time.
