Happy February Everyone! it's a cold but sunny day here today for this first day of a new month. It looks warmer outside than it is so when I took the dog out I was hit with a blast of winter. Guess the dog thought it was cold too as she ran out, did what she had to do and came right back in. No sniffing anything for a million times My morning was fairly busy doing this and that including running the swiffer mop over the hardwood floors. It's easy to keep dust to a minimum when using the swiffer but the one thing that annoys me is having the move the dining room chairs to get under the table. My chairs are heavy and sometimes I try to just sweep around them but today I could see the dust with the sun shining. Tonight is pasta night so I got the meatballs made and I just added them to the sauce that's been cooking in the crockpot. My daughter and I love pasta nights but once the crockpot starts really cooking it works it's way upstairs. Then she has to smell it all day long while she's working and it drives her crazy What a surprise this morning to find a "for sale" sign on my next door neighbors lawn. They only moved in a little over 2 years ago and now they're leaving. Of course I had to go online and look at all the photos of their house to see what they've done. When they first moved in I knew they had renovated the kitchen so nosey me wanted to see what they did. I have to admit the kitchen is white and beautiful. Makes me want to do a whole renovation here but of course that's just wishful thinking and not in my budget nor do I want to deal with the chaos and mess. From what I could see online I'm betting it sells quickly and I just hope that the new neighbors are nice. So far I've been lucky Can't say there's much else going on today.

I hope your new neighbors are nice. I could go for some spaghetti and meatballs about now; and it's only 8 am. Have a great day!

I hope you'll get really nice new neighbors. I'd be really nosy too, I love seeing what people have done when they renovate

Fingers crossed the new neighbors will be nice. Actually I don't care if they're nice as long as they're quiet and not party animals

@Marilynda1225 I sure hope so, too. And you'll be sure to tell us if that's the case. It's a risk when people move.

It is a sunny day here today too, it makes such a difference in how I feel. And the dustbunnies too, they come out for you to see. I have our dinner planned already today too.

I am making fried shrimps with rice for dinner, a quick dinner, it's already 6:15 p.m. and we are back home from only a short time. My neighbor renovated their kitchen last year. She called me inside to show me, her kitchen is pretty, but I have no intention to do anything in my home.

I love fried shrimp!! yum I love watching tv shows about home renovations but I have little desire to do much remodeling. However we are planning on replacing the bathtub in the upstairs bathroom with a shower. That's about the extent of my tolerance for being disrupted. I don't know how people survive doing whole house renovations that take months to finish.

@Marilynda1225 We made some renovations when we bought this house in 1999. I hate to have workers inside the house. When my neighbor renovated her kitchen, they were with boxes in the living room during 10 days. She told me that "IF" she knew it would have been so long she would have renounced. Now I know how long it takes. My kitchen stays as it is.

I love that now you can virtually tour any house you might want to buy without having to physically go. I especially love when there's a house for sale in my community. All our houses are similar so it's interesting to see how everyone has decorated.

I'm thinking Pretty and I should have hamburgers tonight for dinner... I haven't cooked hamburgers in about two months. (I did eat a couple of hamburgers I made and froze when my eyes swelled shut this last time but Pretty didn't get one. She was making sure I ate something.) I was just looking out the kitchen window and thought I saw snow falling. When I opened the front door, I'm positive the road in front of the house is turning white again. *sigh* I hope you get new neighbors you like... Good luck.

Burgers are one of my favorite meals. I've always been a burger fan from childhood. Hope you were just imagining more snow falling there

@Marilynda1225 Nope... another quarter inch fell. But it is 41F, so some of the ice and snow are melting off.

Sounds like a good dinner there. I will bake some chicken thighs to serve with some brown rice and a good salad. I hope you are lucky with the neighbors.

When I could see the dust on the floor when the sun shone on it, I have to admit a few times I'd just pull the curtains closed!

We are kindred spirits Judy. I'm laughing but can certainly relate to closing the curtains to avoid seeing the dust

Remodeling is a lot of trouble, My niece remodeled not long ago and it was a mess, it's beautiful now, but getting through the remodeling was a pain.

I don't think I would have the patience to live with a big remodel. I'm glad your niece survived the mess and it came out beautifully.

@Marilynda1225 It was a terrible mess, at one time she was cooking in the bathroom on a hot plate.

Wow, you sure like cleaning! I am not sure what is going on with the house next to me, they always seem to be working on it. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes on the market. That sauce smell must be amazing.

I hate cleaning but force myself to do something every morning to keep the house clean and tidy. I would hate to have my doorbell ring and having to invite someone inside and it being a mess.

My nearest neighbor just had a for sale sign put up, too. And just like you, I snooped into their house via the computer. Fun! Wow they are hoping to get a ton of money for a ranch house. Nice place but wow.

Isn't it fun to peek when a house goes on the market? Should be interesting to see if they come close to their asking price.

I always hope for quiet neighbors and so far I've been lucky. This is the second time the house next door is being sold.
