A Fun Week

I had a great week over these past several days! My week started ho-hum on Monday and Tuesday, with nothing exciting going on, but then fellow myLotter Karen (@FourWalls) got a hold of me and said she was kidnapping me on Wednesday for lunch at Chuy's in my hometown. What a fun time we had, and she is a hoot to be around. Great company and great times. I even skipped out of work to spend the afternoon with her. If she's ever in your neck of the woods, definitely make plans to meet up with her!
I had a dinner date later that night at a new place in town called Ford's Garage. It's a gourmet burger bar set up in the ambiance of an old gas station/service station. We had tried to go there the previous Friday, but there was a 2 hour wait to get in. Most of you probably won't have heard of Ford's Garage, as they are primarily based in Florida, and got their start in Ft. Meyers, Florida, near the winter home of Henry Ford. Linda (@LindaOH), not sure how far this is from you, but there is one Ford's Garage outside of Florida in Norwood, Ohio. If that's anywhere close to you, you should check it out!
On Thursday, I re-signed my contract for another season of professional paintball, so I'm excited about that. Even picked up two new sponsors, which is always nice. Our first tournament of the season will be in March. And then on Friday, the league announced their new prize packages for each of the tournaments this year, and wow they did not disappoint. They're throwing in some serious cash this year for the top finishers! Provides a great incentive to play even harder.
This morning I enjoyed a great breakfast treat at a local place called the Flying Biscuit Cafe. Their food is amazing, and it's very hard to get a reservation there to eat, so that was a big win for me and my gf.
It's a beautiful day here in Florida, sunny and cool, so it looks like it will be a good day to be outside. Might hit up a farmers market and possibly squeeze in a little hike at a local state park.

I have heard stories about @FourWalls from more than one member. Mostly good, but the words "crazy" and "hoot" do come up often, as well as "keep an eye out for the police." lol Glad you had a great time, though, and were able to make some time.
I have never met anyone personally from here.
Ford's Garage sounds entirely interesting to me. Not just because I am a Ford guy, and fascinated by anything Henry Ford or Ford Motor Company—it just sounds like an interesting place. Is there any actual connection to Ford Motor Company? I am sure they probably had to get some licensing to operate though even if they are not.
Other that, that's my comment. Onward and upward, good luck with the paintball, and see you on the next one...or later in this new thread.

As for burgers like that, when you have to use a fork, that's a tell-tale sign it's gonna be good.

That's great you met up with @FourWalls and had a wonderful time.
I wondered if you were still playing paintball. Good to know there are great incentives this year. I hope you continue to do well.
Ford's Garage sounds like a wonderful place to eat. The Flying Biscuit sounds like a great place to eat. It's a first for me to hear of reservations for breakfast.
Enjoy your hike in the state park.
No plans this weekend other than church tomorrow. I'm trying to catch up on the notifications.

I'm always hoping that with me living in Florida that I would get a chance to meet up with other myLotters who choose to vacation and/or winter here in Florida. I always tell everyone, if you're ever in the state, let me know!

@LadyDuck I would love for that to happen, but I worry that if you ever come to Florida again, it. would be without your husband since he is not supposed to fly such long distances.

I'm glad you enjoyed your week. I'd be more than wiling to share the sleet and snow we still have on the ground here. It's been cold as anything here and I'm ready for Winter to get the heck away from me now! We're finally getting a warm-ish day so the crap has a chance to melt off.
Pretty wants to go grocery shopping this afternoon but I'll only drive if all the ice is off the roads.

Wow, sorry the weather is still so bad where you are. Actually, it seems to be that way across a lot of the country, with the exception of a few places like Florida and California. But don't worry, spring will be here soon!

I am so thrilled that you and Four Walls got to go to lunch together. No, Norwood is nowhere nearby. We have a Quaker Steak and Lube within driving distance. I've never been there. Glad to hear about the paintball news. I hope your team wins this season. I wish we were in Florida now. Been without hot water for 2 weeks and without heat for 3 days now.

@moffittjc The basement flooded. The hot water heater is now lit. They are trying to get the heat going but it's not working.

You sound like a fellow foodie...Eat, drink and be merry I say. Glad paintball worked out. Friend and I are going to a movie tomorrow.highlight of my weekend. This is a new theater though, and think it will be a step up from the one we usually go to. I was there one time years ago, when it was Carmike, but it is now Regal.

@moffittjc It was awesome, as usual. We have to return to hit more restaurants. Our very first visit to Florida was Miami. We used to vacation there with the kids, too. Love it there!!!!

@moffittjc We met in Bordeaux and he took us on a walking tour. I can't remember his myLot name but no-one has heard of him for probably a couple of years. He had had a stroke before he met us so I'm afraid by now we'll all thinking the worst. He hasn't answered emails either.

Good for you Jeff. Both places sound amazing. Glad you were able to get in. Not much going on here. Enjoying being at home and the park. The birds are keeping me occupied as well. A lot less drama than people. The photo with you and FourWalls was amazing. Happy for you both.
