Happy Valentines Day to my MyLot friends!

I realized Valentines day was approaching because I see Mexicans everywhere selling bouquets of flowers. Do they celebrate Valentines Day where you live? I see it as a day that women look forward to and men dread. Is an bouquet and fancy dinner good enough? Heh. In any case, Happy Valentines Day to all of my MyLot friends and (and enemies).

My housemate and I bought ourselves "fancy" cocktails for Valentine's Day. My partner had to close at his workplace tonight, so we're doing our Valentine's celebrations tomorrow.

I'd be going for Thai food. But tomorrow is another busy day for me. How will you celebrate?

@TheHorse We might be going to a movie and having lunch or dinner out. We were originally going to go for a hike in Pescadero, but my sprained ankle threw a wrench in those plans.

I don´t celebrate Valentine´s Day. And this is an imported holiday in my country I wrote a post about my Valentines before going to therapy. Now I´m exhausted but I have to do a lot. https://www.mylot.com/post/3543812/good-morning-and-happy-valentine-s-day Dixie just sent me a card. I´ll copy it for you.

Happy Valentine's Day to you as well! Well, one can have some simple Snacks and / or Chocolates during this day. Of course, it's up to each to celebrate in different ways.

It's not a big celebration here, I am sure that most people do not even celebrate. Anyway is only between couples, no other family members of friends involved. I do not want flowers or chocolates or other expensive things. I make a nice dinner and that's it. Happy Valentine's Day to you.

They did not celebrate Valentine's Day some years ago, but now the Greeks have caught up. At least the younger ones.; My hubby has never taken to it although I did my best when we lived in England when it was hard to miss it. Here it is not in everyone's face in quite the same way.

@41CombedaleRoad - In Italy it never really caught up and also here in Switzerland most people totally ignore this celebration. This year even more than usual. I am sure that inflation is preventing people to waste money in useless things.

Some people say it shouldn’t just be a guy treating his lady on Valentine’s Day but also the lady treating her guy. Thoughts? And we should show each other how much we love each other on a regular basis not just Feb. 14th. On the other hand, many want today to be special too. Perhaps because it’s a commercialized holiday.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh you would explode my budget. I would rather the guys felt the pinch. I think it is a reminder sorta...when everything slips into mundane stuff...festivals are kinda..hey, you are not a machine, you are a human, you are "supposed to feel", and you are "supposed to like money less". Evil grin.

No...that would be so anti Hindu and at present everything that is not Hindu is not in vogue. LOL But my English teacher's name was Valentine...so I can never forget this day. I get my two square meals because of her. Am I your friend or enemy?

Happy Hearts Day to you too! Ha - here they are selling the bouquets and those basket/gift sets with a stuffed animal, and whatever else is in there . . . literally every corner. I don't need fancy anything . . . but of course I won't turn it away .

It's been years since I celebrated Valentine's Day with someone special. But I always celebrate it on my own by doing something special for myself. Today, I fixed strawberries for strawberry shortcake. I'll need to go to the store for the whipped cream and angel food cakes.
