Sushi Donut

When we were at Epcot at Walt Disney World on Valentine's Day, the theme park was celebrating its annual Festival of the Arts. It's part of the reason we chose Epcot over the other three Disney theme parks, because we love browsing art.
In addition to the numerous art kiosks set up throughout the park, there was also about 20 or so food kiosks intermingled between the art exhibits. In addition to viewing the art, riding all the rides at Epcot, and visiting all the countries in the World Showcase, one of our other goals for the day was to sample at least one food offering from each of the kiosks (for the record, we only made it through nine kiosks before we were too full to eat anything else).
Our favorite of the day was a "sushi donut" offered at a kiosk outside of the Japan pavilion in the World Showcase. On a bed of rice in the shape and size of a regular donut, there was a topping of salmon, tuna and shrimp. In the donut hole was fresh ginger, and on the side was sriracha, soy sauce and wasabi. The sushi donut was so delicious both my girlfriend and I got our own after sharing one the first time.
We are planning a return trip soon so we can continue sampling the food at each of the kiosks, but the Festival of the Arts will be ending this week and they will be transitioning into the Flower and Garden Festival. That means that there will be colorful plants and flowers everywhere, and an entire new offering of food choices!

@FourWalls How would you ever be able to survive living in Florida if you're allergic to seafood? That's like living in Nebraska and finding out you're allergic to gluten! haha

It tasted as good as it looked. I'm surprised more places haven't started servicing "sushi donuts," especially for breakfast. Are you a big fan of sushi?

@NJChicaa I would say I eat it at least once a week. My daughter is an absolute sushi fanatic, so she is always making or bringing home sushi for everyone to eat.

No, I would not eat a sushi donut. I like my food cooked!!! Nine kiosks? Wow. That's a lot of food. Have fun at the Flower and Garden Festival!

Nine is all we made it through. I don't think I could ever make it through all of them.
They do make sushi that uses cooked fish instead of raw fish, so you could always try that.

Nope. That would be all yours. Don't like sushi at all. Nope, nope, nope. Not me. lol. But glad you had a great time. I still think you live there. But it also makes me wonder how much dough you have since that place is not cheap either.

Although I’m technically retired, I have two jobs currently. The FT job is what I live on. The PT job is what pays for my Disney obsession. I’ll be back there on March 6, March 17the, and May 20-22. At least that’s what’s reserved as of right now.

I used to think that for years, and then one day at hot girl asked me out on a sushi lunch date. I was too embarrassed to tell her I didn't like sushi, so I went along and pretended I liked it. But the truth was that I actually did like it, probably because I was looking across the table the entire time at such a beautiful girl. I've been hooked on sushi ever since.
