What annoys me about Dad...

Seriously....been sick since the 7th. Cough and sore throat...fever 102 C. So...this morning recovered somewhat.......went out shopping bought him some fish since he likes that fish. Warmed it up, placed it in his plate.......he says he not gonna eat. I am still weak...and not completely out of woods. Surely as a parent he should feel...how sweet and nice is my daughter...she went out and got me something to eat...she remembers me...or something so mushy... He never does......... I expect parents to be mushy... I see others parents are ...so my expectation is not so out of place. Are your parents so childish?

Uhm... your fever was 102F, hon... 102C means you burned up... I hope Pretty will still be willing to put up with me when I'm 350 years old like your dad... or even 86 years old... I don't think Pretty would do nice things for me when I'm that old. *shrug*

Yeah...I won the war against virus or bacteria ...whichever...but I won that war...I did take Dolo 650...but only on two days and only two tablets. I am actually feeling good that with as little help as that I vanquished the microbes. There is always a chance that you could be wrong........somewhat more wrong, or extremely wrong. I am sure, the last one is true.

@vandana7 I'm glad you won and pretty quickly, too.... I don't like it when you're sick. Maybe... but maybe not, too... She isn't always nice now.

@DaddyEvil Is it because you left the job? Or is it because you are unreasonable and nasty enough to block me...evil grin. Come to India...if you feel that she is not treating you well. Ok?

I have a stepmom who never thinks good about me and my elder brother and my father too dances to her tune. So I don't have parents who don't think much about me.

@sjvg1976 I feel sorry for those who realize their value after they are gone. Then there are only regrets, nothing can be done. I am kinda happy at least he relishes my cooking. So he eats something. After stroke, people steadily lose interest in food.

Extra effort is never appreciated. And maybe I was morbid ...being sick... Yeah..I would think a person would realize the extra effort another person puts in to make him happy. Is that me being childish?

My Dad was lovely and always had words of appreciation for everything I did. Mom was like your Dad.

I hate it when he does not appreciate the thought that went into it. After all, I was not well, and still I went out. I could well have stayed in bed, waited to recover.

@LadyDuck That is so much like an Indian family. Are there dowries given to sons in your world?

@vandana7 I know how you feel, believe me. We drove during 4 hours to go to stay at her apartment when she was not well. Did she appreciate? NO when she talked to people she said "HER SON" was there, that made me really angry.

He does sound ungrateful. It's tough looking after an elderly parent.

Yeah...I was so weak yesterday...still I thought dad should not get what I got, so I went and bought him fish. I told him, there is a reason people abuse their parents. Evening he again did something like that, I told him next life you will get abusive children...go.

My father is extremely demanding. LOL. He is thankful many times...but not mushy. Maybe because of weakness, morbid expectation was...he would be very happy. When he was mad at me, I went into self pity mode...now it is behind me. Business as usual. Tomorrow if I get a chance, I will return the favor. Evil Grin.

Aw........not getting enough of parent/s must make you feel so helpless at times. Maybe because I was sick and morbidity rules when you are still weak, I expected better outcome. Tomorrow is another day. I might get a chance to get even. Let us see. LOL

This was completely unexpected because I had been sick. I went into self pity mode..LOL. He does thank me at times. But he also wants things his way...and doesn't bother with what I think or feel.

Aw...21..................... much as I have issues with my surviving parent, there are plenty of times he has been invaluable to me too. I have felt I could not have managed without him. It is moments like those that help to keep me grounded. I am really sorry you missed out on parents beyond 21. There is a feeling of being sheltered as long as they are around. At least in India.
