It's really dangerous out there tonight.

As you know, I am generally pretty chill about dangers out there. The odds of me being killed on any given day or night are pretty low, whether it be by a gang-banger or a rattlesnake. But I admit that I was on high alert tonight tonight after work at Guitar Center. There were power outages all around where I live, due to a massive wind storm we had here. Stoplights were dark, and not yet replaced by flashing red lights. Good drivers know to treat dead stoplights as stop signs, but bad drivers do not. Half of the drivers out there are "below average " drivers. That's a statistical fact. I was almost hit twice by drivers who ran dead stoplights. The windstorm is gone, and it is calm out now. I am glad to be home.

The problematic stoplights are really dangerous, especailly for newcomer drivers.Local traffic system should detect the unusual stoplights by monitors.Hope the repairer can fix the fault very soon.Otherwise, such a stoplight are very likely cause traffic accident.

Be careful on the road and follow the rules, even if the traffic lights are not working. Glad to hear you're safe at home.

People driving too fast and then slamming on their brakes for the more hidden stoplights were an issue too.

We are still having a windstorm that stared during the night. The highest danger is to get a limb of a tree on the head (or a tree on the car). We never have power outages, the cables are all underground.

Thanks, DE. It's sunny out not. Maybe they're out working on whatever transformers blew. I saw entire neighborhoods in darkness.

Hell, even many drivers can't figure out a 4-way stop, let alone a roundabout. I am always on high alert when I drive because it seems to me there are more idiots than good drivers.

Comedian Stephen Wright got it right. 50 percent of the people we know are "below average." Do you know this John Prine song? It's pretty funny.

A reason why I don't want to go out at night. Even if I have friends, I don't want to practice going home when the sky is dark.

@Adie04 Where do you live? Here (except in our worst neighborhoods), it is OK for a female to go out alone. But we do have many bad drivers, about half of them female.

@TheHorse Maybe because I am a female that I don't practice going out at night because it's quite dangerous for female to go out alone. But talking about drivers.... I feel you. They're sometimes, feel like the road is theirs
