We went rowing on Lake Conn

Yesterday our son took us for a boat ride on Lake Conn, Co. Mayo, Ireland. The morning started out a bit miserable but we set off about 1 o’clock. Damian did most of the rowing but, as you can see, Vince took a turn too. We wore life-jackets but they were a type that would only inflate once we hit the water so we took care not to do that! We were able to pull up on the shore after a short time and Damian had packed champagne and a picnic lunch for us. Then we rowed home again. Nothing earth-shattering but another lovely memory to take home with us.

@LadyDuck We leave here at 8am in the morning. Our son will drive us to Dublin then we catch a plane to Dubai then change to go to Perth.

Boat ride is always wonderful. We did it some 2 months back in a Hilly area lake. I think you folks did enjoy the trip. This lake looks much wider than the one on which we took the ride. May be it is deeper too. By the way your wealth of the Ireland tour posts astonishes me !

@JudyEv You already do a lot. The way you explain Notices, Sign boards and about the places is excellent. But we can perhaps note stuff like Year of origin, elevation above sea level(one of my favs)and so on.

I saw so much that I wanted to share but sometimes I have to research 'stuff' so I get the facts right. I should probably try to take notes as I go. I take photos of any notices and that helps.
