I just went into the kitchen to "brew up" my second cup of coffee for this morning.
I had managed to boil the water without setting things on fire. A good start.
But where was my coffee? It has its place on my counter.
I checked all of my kitchen counters. Had I become distracted by something?
Sighing, I checked my refrigerator and then my freezer. No luck.
Finally, I went all Sherlock Horse and remembered that I had grabbed my morning coffee cup from the cupboard, not the dishwasher.
Voila. The coffee was in the space vacated by the coffee cup, in my overhead cupboard.
I am now sipping my second cup of coffee, and my house is still not on fire. Life is good.
Have you ever experienced a Senior Moment?

Enjoy your second cup of coffee. Glad that all went well
.Not a senior yet, but I do experience such things due to overwhelming mind. I looked for my phone to check for a mail while I was talking to mom over my phone

@TheHorse @arunima25 Mom used to ask me to help her find her glasses all the time... I'd start smiling and tell her to look in the mirror... She'd smack my shoulder and tell me to stop being smug about it.

I have forgotten what I went into another room to do but that's a different type of brain fart having to do with going through a doorway.
I haven't put anything into the fridge or freezer that didn't belong there... yet. (Pretty has asked me to help her find things before and we found the item in the freezer.... I giggled a lot!

You have computerized brain. I struggle a lot... what worries me ... should I die, how will my father manage...I feel like buying meds for six months and keeping stock...but after that what? As to food, should I keep that much cash? ILLEGAL. And in any event, he cannot open the cupboard, nor close it. Sigh. I can worry myself sick with such thoughts. So absent mindedness in other things is just to be expected.

@vandana7 No, I always want thing in their assigned space and used to gripe at Pretty if she moved things on me... I'm OCD about such things. I can't help it.
Pretty has always had "trouble" closing cupboards and drawers in the house... It bugs me to see cupboards and drawers partly closed. She says she closes them but they open by themselves... *sigh* So I'm used to going through the kitchen closing the cupboards and drawers behind her. Amazingly, they stay closed after I do it.
If something happened to you, your dad would have to hire someone to help him with common things. Either that, or he'd follow you to the next life soon afterward.
Pretty always insists on having totes filled with canned foods and other totes filled with dried foods plus what we keep in the cabinets and fridge/freezer. That has actually helped us since the price of foods has gone up. (I used to tell her we didn't need that much food in the house but stopped complaining when prices got higher and higher.
)
We always have at least one extra month of our meds on hand but since they're prescribed, we aren't allowed to buy further in the future than that.

I made a mug of ramen noodle soup and couldn't find my favorite spoon because it was already in the cup.

There are times I have to stop and give extra thought to things. At least my cats keep my brain working. Like Freddie sleeping in front of my AC near where I work on my PC for several days now. Today I was wondering where he was and found he had changed location and was sleeping on the kitchen floor

All the time. Witness my constantly losing my phone in plain sight.

Well a few times my housemates set things so well that I had difficulty in finding a few things.
But well, does that too qualify for Senior Moment?
It is a question that is a tad bit difficult to answer.
Have a nice Wednesday!

And I thought that your life has more fun, success and less stress than me.
Yet it seems as if you have a lot of challenges of your own !

I feel a lot older than you Pony. The last six years ..ever since I had to file the case, there has been steady deterioration of my mental alertness as well as appearance. Fearing the worst, I have taken rather high health insurance. Alzheimer's is feared intensely. My senior moment? This morning I too approached the fridge, and was told to get lost.

I certainly do
More often then I’d like. I’m glad that you found the coffee.

Yes, it's usually when my mind is occupied with other things; and I put something in a different place than usual.

I am smiling. Yes, I did.
I was in a hurry to go out with my grandkid and got my clothes changed for a stroll outside. As we went out of the house, my granddaughter pointed at my clothes, "Grandma, look!"
My clothes were worn inside out. I had to go back and fix it. We couldn't help laughing all the way to the park.
