Coffee or Tea?

When it comes to hot drinks, coffee has the highest sales record in the world. You can drink it hot, chilled or iced; you can have espresso, French press, caffe latte and much more. Earliest evidence of coffee drinking was in present Yemen from the mid 15th century in Sufi shrines. There are two types of coffee beans grown: C. arabica and C. robusta. As of 2018, Brazil led the world as a grower of coffee beans, producing 35% of the world's total. After plain water, tea is the most widely consumed drink in the world. It can have sweet, nutty, floral or grassy notes. The record of tea drinking dates back to the 3rd century A.D. Herbal teas are infusions of fruit, leaves or other plant parts; such as, steeps of rosehip or chamomile. They are called herbal infusions so not to be confused with regular tea made from the tea plant. There are a myriad of types and flavors of coffee, tea and herbal infusions. Coffee and tea aficianados must spend a lot of time sampling all these options. I drink one cup of decaf coffee in the afternoon with something sweet. I add creamer and sugar. I do not like flavored creamers or coffee. I used to have a cup of herbal tea in the evening (no sugar) with a bagel. Which do you prefer -- coffee or tea? What kind of coffee or tea do you prefer? Flavors? How do you prepare your coffee? Do you use tea bags or tea leaves? What do you like putting in your coffee or tea? Do you like flavored creamers? Do you patronize Starbucks? What does your barista prepare for you? Photo Credit: Pixabay

I drink coffee daily. I do love it just the way it is with a splash of milk, I dislike any flavouring at all in it. I brew my own pot of coffee here, no single cup coffee for me, I do not like the taste. On occasion I will add a bit of cinnamon to the grounds, but only usually when it is cold and only a few times a year. I will drink tea when I am ill as there are some great teas that help with different aliments.

I love coffee, I have an espresso coffee machine and I make my espresso coffee at home. I buy coffee beans, Colombian coffee, not too much roasted and not oily. I hate creamers, garbage stuff. Sometimes I add a little dairy cream go my coffee. This is my coffee.

I like medium roast coffee with cream and sugar. Yes, I like flavored creamers like Amaretto or Hazelnut. We occasionally get lattes which I enjoy. I do not patronize Starbucks. We have a local place called Moxie Java and I like to patronize small businesses. Green tea is good. Or, I like sweet tea.

We went to Starbucks on one of our trips and couldn't drink the coffee. It was so strong and bitter no matter how much sugar and creamer that we added.

I prefer Ginger tea, then there is masala tea (mix of various spices like, cinnamon, cardamom, blackpeper etc.). Coffee, I drink if tea is not available. Is there any health benefits of coffee?

I drink two to three cups of black coffee daily. Sometimes I brew it with a cinnamon stick as that is good for you and tasty without being sweet. I drink iced tea with lemon at restaurants and sometimes here at home I drink a blend of iced tea and lemonade. I have herbal teas and flavored teas as well.

I prefer coffee but I have mine with milk no sugar. Once in a while I might drink iced tea but I don't put anything in it. This past cold season I started putting dark cocoa mix in with the coffee for the iron, but I don't anymore, it was way too sweet.

Coffee for me (black with no milk or sugar). I'm not really fond of flavors but I do enjoy an occasional cappuccino. My grandfather was a big coffee drinker do I think I inherited his love of coffee. Everyone else in my family were/are tea drinkers. My daughter is a fan of Starbucks but not me. Too expensive

I don't drink coffee or tea currently, but in my life, I have definitely had more tea. At one time I even bought a kettle. On the occasion I have had tea, I put in some local honey, for flavor, and when your honey is local it helps a person fight off their allergies. If my parents had been coffee or tea drinkers I imagine I would have followed in their liquid footsteps. But they never drank coffee, and the only time they had tea was at dinner, and it was iced tea. And finally, I have only been to Starbucks once, and I patronized their drive thru only for an orange cranberry muffin.

When I drink coffee, I palpitate and I wouldn't be able to sleep. My heart can't handle it with the exception of Starbucks. So I prefer tea on daily basis, but I drink only green tea and preferably TWG Silver Moon.
