No winners in the Powerball lottery. Jackpot is now up to $1.0 billion. Cash option is at $516.8 million. Are you the next winner? Florida already has several invasive species including the iguana and python. Now a Florida suburb of Fort Lauderdale is overrun with domestic lionhead rabbits. A breeder illegally released her rabbits; and now 60-100 are populating an 81-home community in Wilton Manors (Jenada Isles). A local resident is fearful that in addition to the rabbits becoming a pest problem, they could fall prey to animals and to the Florida heat. Mrs. Griggs is attempting to raise $20,000-$40,000 to capture, neuter, vaccinate, shelter and then give away the rabbits. She feels that the local government is dragging their feet and something must be done. Peacock streaming service is going to raise their rates. Irresponsible people who introduce illegally animals and let them go in the nature are causing problems all over the world. We now have snap turtles in our rivers and catfish, they eat all the local fish, frogs and other small animals.

Yes! It's a major problem in Florida. They have people that are hired to capture the pythons and shoot the iguanas.

These people are so irresponsible with these animals. I hope she was at least fined. I had salmon, carrots, shrimp & ramen, dried peas, and a plum.

If no one does anything, they could spread throughout the state.

Chicken burgers are good. I think about how many charities I could donate to if we won the big jackpot.

That is a terrible state of affairs with so many bunnies there. She should be responsible for paying for their neutering and then banned from every having pets again, after they are safely rehomed. What is with people in Florida going so far overboard with pets? The state is over runned with python snakes, which must have started out as a few pets here and there and then just snowballed, and now bunnies. It is so unlogical and inhumane.

@marlina They only charge $2.50 a meal and you usually get the main dish, two veggies and a fruit. If you can't afford it, you can get them for free.

They dig out foundations of houses and piers, they compete with other wildlife for food and shelter, they destroy crops and they spread disease. They are being shot by the hundreds in Florida.

@LindaOHio Oh I see. We don't have any wild rabbits here at all. They're simply pets being taken care of by people.

This may seem harsh but rabbits have been a food source for many predators so maybe they should just leave it alone, some of those rabbits will survive.

That's a possibility; but there are so many invasive species in Florida that maybe they want to nip it in the bud.

Sigh Much too expensive but how I used to love eating lobster. Mom and I ate as much as we could when we lived in NYC. I could just imagine that large lobster boiled with plenty of melted butter, I had pork patties, and some scoops of cottage cheese.

Wow! I hope something is done about the rabbits. I got an e-mail from Peacock about the price raise this morning. Food yesterday was again too many calories. I tried to limit it, but even the scale wasn't in my favor this morning. The potluck didn't help. Without the potluck, my calories were good. Food - too much to put here.

I've never won a large jackpot prize. The most was $20. How about you? I guess nature will help with the rabbit problem. Those bunnies will provide food for a lot of hungry predators.

Years ago I watched one of those monster movies. You know, the gigantic ants come out and snack on humans?? This particular monster movie featured gigantic rabbits!!! I think they got the rabbits to die by erecting electric fences.

I guess that is the fear that they will spread all over the state. Some lobsters don't have the big claws...depends on the country and area. One example is the California Spiny Lobster which doesn't have big claws..
