I got my goat fix yesterday

We went to visit my sister today and I was able to get my goat fix. My sister and her son have several breeds of goats. The top two images show an Angora goat with her kid. The doe looks so protective here and it is obvious that she is a good mother. The lower two photos are two of the bucks that they have. These were very friendly and willingly came for a scratch. Vince was trying to get a better photo of the curly top knot on the white buck but the brown-and-white one wanted his photo taken too.

They are all cute, but the baby is so beautiful, it looks like a stuffed toy, too pretty.

They say that about the tennis players now, don't they? I thought it was a very strange saying before I worked out what they meant.

@Butterfingers When you first hear the term, it doesn't sound very complimentary.

@JudyEv LOL I was not aware earlier of what GOAT means and even asked people but no one had the answer, these days most are using GOAt again all good cricket players, footballers and tennis players etc

Just because he's a goat doesn't mean he can't be a ham for the camera.

That's for sure. Vince wanted the white buck to stand back so he could get a better photo but he (the goat) just wanted to say hello.

Did you climb in the pen with the momma and baby to play for a while?

Some do look like they're smiling. The brown one tried really hard to get his head over the gate to say hello.

I had to read this several times before I realized you are talking about photography. When someone says they get an animal 'fixed' I assume it's a trip to the veterinarian. Beautiful goats.

For me, the 'fix' is getting to pet and cuddle the goats. I had a pet goat as a child and have always loved them.

Aww, they are so cute. Somebody I know the dog groomer...used to keep sheep around for her dogs to practice herding. One of them they bottle raised and it was so cute when it was a baby, but when he got older was big into head butting. He ended up on a farm somewhere. The other sheep weren't quite so lucky.

we had friends who named their bottle-fed lambs Roast and Chops. We raised dozens of pet lambs on the farm but never ate them. They went back out with the flock as soon as they were old enough and most didn't really stay tame.
