International Cat Day

It’s time to celebrate with your cat or cats. It seems there is an international day for many other reasons so it is just right to have one for our furry friends. The organization International Cat Care is the official custodian of this day and the official date is August 8. I know there are many cat parents on myLot and if we all lived on one side of the world it might have been nice to have a cat parade on this day. International Cat Day was started in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. Even though not many people take their cats outside if they are indoors, both outside and indoor cats need to have daily play in order to stay active and healthy.

Quite an interesting day !
There are quite many cat owners on Mylot.
Not many people keep Cats as pets in India although now the trends are changing a bit.
Now we see more cats and dogs as pets.

@LindaOHio nothing wrong with being a Dog person. What is funny is that I have been a cat person all my life and had neighbors all around with dogs which I like as well but could never imagine myself having a dog.

I do not know how my cats will like back to school. They have become accustomed to being where ever I am, almost all of the time. Happy Cat Day! They both think my laptop is a cat bed.

Cats of all stripes and personalities have adopted me for most of my life. Tomorrow I take my Siamese buddy Beau Teak in to have a massive dental event. Please pray for his sweet soul. Almost every day he hugs me and snuffles in my ear.

A day for Cats that's good. Dogs get a lot of the glamour, so its nice cats are recognized too. I enjoyed having a cat for many years. I had a string I would play with her, and she would chase me around the house trying to catch it. And she loved hiding in paper bags or laying in boxes.
