Well, my husband found his driver's license. Guess where it was? In his wallet. Sigh.
There is a new COVID variant nicknamed "Pirola" which has the world's attention. COVID has mutated into dozens of variants; but Pirola has the attention of US scientists Genetically it is different from Omicron and has appeared in Michigan in the US, three times in Denmark and once in the UK. Scientists would like to stop this variant before it becomes another pandemic; but it is no cause for alarm at this time. While this is happening, regular COVID infections are increasing in the US to 610,000 new cases a day!
Red Lobster was not expecting as many people as showed up yesterday; and they were short staffed. Service was abysmally slow (we were in the restaurant for 3 hours), we asked for things 3 or 4 times and sometimes never received them and the food was not as good as it normally is. However, hubby still enjoyed his birthday dinner. There was a girl next to us that was having a birthday; and the servers sang to her and gave her a big dish of ice cream. I told hubs he should tell them it was his birthday; but he didn't want to!
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Red Lobster for hubby's Birthday - Cheddar Bay Biscuits, stuffed mushrooms, clam strips, scallops, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts
Dessert/Snack - Red Lobster Chocolate Wave cake and decaf coffee
Dinner - None

I don't know what version has hit us, but 80% of my staff at work were out with Covid last week. Thankfully, whatever variant it was, it was short-lived; the sickest person was only out for 4 days. This week everyone is back at work and healthy.

@LindaOHio I felt bad that they were all sick, but thank God I didn’t get Covid! I’m known as Mr. Covid in these parts! Lol

I love the lemurs.
Yesterday I had porridge for breakfast. For lunch I had Ja Ja Tofu, and a small vegan yoghurt. For dinner/tea I had Prawn toasties.

Stuffed mushrooms from Red Lobster are divine! I always order those on the rare occasion I used to go (usually for my birthday).
I’m just glad to hear he did find his license even though it IS funny he had it all along.
Yesterday, I had salmon, carrots, green beans, popcorn, grapes, and mini carrots.

They used to stuff the mushrooms with a "seafood stuffing". Now it's just breadcrumbs.

I don't blame your hubby. I don't like strangers making a fuss over me, either. I'm sorry his birthday dinner wasn't as good as it should have been.

Usually our Red Lobsters (we have 2 of them) are much better; but they were caught short-handed. It took almost a 1/2 hour to get our appetizers.

@DaddyEvil Just a first-world problem. We were in the restaurant for 3 hours. Hubs kept his good humor which was surprising.

Such a beautiful photo of one of my favorite animals. What about flu cases. Nobody is talking about those and they seem to be on the rise. As of Feb. 24, Atlanta's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated 25 million illnesses, 280,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 deaths from the flu this season. Happy Birthday to your husband, late of course.

Thanks. Hubby says thank you. Funny. I haven't seen anything in the news about flu cases. I'll have to keep an eye open because that's something I usually report on. I"m a medical nerd.

The good news is that he found it though, that's a relief.
No more of the C word, not going through that stuff again!
Sorry about the restaurant being so busy, but that's good he still enjoyed the meal.

We've never had an experience like this at either of our RL. The server said they hadn't expected as many people as showed up AND she was the one that was making the drinks and the salads, etc. There was no prep person.

Yes, he kept his good humor through the whole 3 hours we were in the restaurant. Tater tots and cottage cheese? When is your next order?

That was definitely not a great dining experience. Glad you guys still enjoyed the dinner. When we went out for my MIL's birthday, there was no candle either. Apparently, they don't do candles at that restaurant.

I'm so glad he found his license.
It must be a man thing, none of the guys I know will let their wives tell a waiter that it's his BD, unless it means free food of course. Used to be you could get a freebee at Denneys on your day but I'm not sure they still do that.

I’m sorry his birthday was less than superb, which is the type of birthday he deserved.
CTS for lunch, finished off my infamous potato soup for dinner, along with a cup of less-cheating cheater’s gazpacho (I got a cucumber and puréed it with some of the tomatoes).

Happy Birthday to your hubby!! sorry that your dining at Red Lobster was a bit disappointing. When restaurants are short staffed it does make things difficult.
