Congratulations to India!
I wonder if @vandana7 was watching to make sure everything went exactly right?

Are you kidding? I am instrumental in financing it. I paid my taxes regularly. LOL
The FATSO Vanny - at Vinayaka temple. That god is as fat as I. Actually, I treat Vinayaka as kid bro. So kinda...I had to show family trait. LOL...I am feeling ashamed of putting on so much weight...you can see my eyes close...

@DaddyEvil I fear our apartment lift will get damaged because of my weight. In fact, they changed it this April, and I am sure I am the reason. I believe so because it gave problem in July too. I really need to lose some weight.

I'm surprised you didn't insist on your own control for the ship so you could check everything the scientists were doing and give approval before they could do it.
Dearheart, a lot of people became overweight during the pandemic and haven't tried to take any of the extra weight off since then. I gained 30 lbs/13.6 kg and have only taken off about 10 lbs/4.5 kg of that.

Congratulations to them!
I was about 10 days old when the original moon landing happened. My Mum missed it because she was still in hospital after halving me!

Thank you.
That must have been so exciting.

@arunima25 Well, I wouldn't know, as I was only 10 days old, and I don't know wether my mother knows either, 'cos she was in a hospital bed getting over having me (I was born awkward!) And I don't know if they had the telly on!

I agree...the scientists did really well. I am feeling so good today. But the fact remains that my taxes of the past as well as present helped us to get here. My past taxes helped to establish ISRO and educate those researchers. :) We cannot give credit to only one party for it. They are lucky they have educated folks available to them, and basic foundation laid for them. New technologies too, which were not available in the past. So ..we should acknowledge that there was far sightedness on the part of previous governments to establish ISRO and BARC and BHEL, and HAL. None of which were available during the British time. Sorta...HAL was incorporated before, but not sufficiently staffed or equipped to take flight. A little bit of honesty goes a long way in establishing credibility and amicability, like Azad said...most of the Muslims in India are Hindus who converted. Whether they were converted by force, or whether they converted to curry favor, remains something to be established in each case. Till the relevant information is available, hating Muslims does not make sense.

@arunima25 Political will depends upon what are the alternatives before them at that point of time. Appeasement of minorities is wrong. So is appeasement of majority.
I see it as faster technologies at our disposal now which have enabled us to achieve better and faster. Earlier such tech was not available.

@vandana7 Appeasement of any one is wrong.
There are always alternative to choose from. Your will decides what to choose. Stopping Chandrayaan 2 was not a good choice and showed lack of political will.
Renouncing again after the failure in just four years, getting private players in , giving adequate fund...moral boost... this was political will.
Technologies keep advancing and one has to stay in the race. Technology in the yesteryears were best for their time. The point is that could we use it?

I am not in mood for any argument. Happy, happy and too happy. Yes, proud to be a honest taxpayer myself. It's going to inspire generations to come. All little steps in past have counted and only a fool will deny that. But that's also a fact that political will is seen more in recent times and moral boosting is important.
Appeasement of minorities is not real love for them. It's keeping them mislead and misguided. Uniform Civil code, ban of triple talaq etc seem more secular. And no true Indian hates any Indian Muslim or no Muslim in right state of mind hates Hindu.
We have political fools in every party who weave such stories of hatred. We can use our sense to believe it or not.
My Muslim friends are in love with Yogi and Modi.

@arunima25 I missed it as I sleep early Wonder if there is a video to show this slow movement. Some child compared it to a baby coming out of a mother's womb

@allknowing It was exciting to see it roll down the ramp. And now it's moving around and doing it's job. Proud to see the imprint of our flag ISRO mark and emblem on lunar surface.
Aw! That's a beautiful comparison.
Indeed! It was like a baby coming out of mother's womb.
