Favorite Retailer Buy From

I feel like 75% of us would say Amazon if we named our favorite retailer to buy from, so let’s exclude Amazon from the conversation. Which store is your favorite to shop at, or order from? When you exclude Amazon, it is harder to choose. I’m wondering if Marilyn would choose Hobby Lobby, or if Courtney would say the place she gets the majority of her diamond paintings, or if our garden growers would just head to the seed store. I have a feeling a few of you would choose a bookstore, even if you can’t choose Amazon. Maybe Barnes & Noble? Would Lou go for Walgreens? Tell me which store, online or offline, is your favorite to order from?

Walmart, they have some of everything all in the same place.

I'm not a big shopper and get most things from Amazon. I guess if I had to pick one place I'd say Target.

They do have more creative and modern things than their Walmart competitor.

Anyone that knows me, knows I truly detest Walmart. As NJ Chicaa says, it's not my jam at all. If I had to pick a big store it would be Target. I like the quality of their items way more than I ever liked Walmart's.

A favorite would depend on just what I'm looking to buy. Amazon is my least favorite place to buy. For food it's a toss up tween Costco (not online), Sams (not online), Vitacost (online only) and Walmart (both online and in store. For shoes when I can afford them it's clarks.com For clothes it's a toss up. For electronics if I can afford it or need it then it's either Best Buy or Walmart or Target, mostly online. I have the funny feeling I don't have a favorite.

I would have to say H&M as that is where I get the majority of the girls' clothing. I do not do alot of online shopping otherwise. I like their sales, they come up quickly and are really good. The last item I bought was 14.99 and the very next day it was $10 more and that was still reduced.

Is the H&M in Canada the same H&M we have in the United States? I know they always sold trendy clothing, but I didn’t think our stores sold clothes for really little ones. Of course, it’s been like fifteen years since I’ve been in one.

@AmbiePam I only know about H&M here. I love it for the girls, they have trendy clothing, you can tell if you see a child wearing their clothing. I find that it washes very well and some of it will come with cuffs that you can let down as they grown, which is wonderful. I do not really care for going into the stores, they do not have the selection that they do online.

We mostly shop at Walmart because they're the main store in our little city. Before the pandemic, we shopped all over the place and we weren't loyal to any one store. I usually bought books from Barnes & Noble. Now I get them online.

I think if it came down to it, Walmart would be my choice too. They have everything. Fifteen years ago it would have been Borders. Do you remember that store? It sold books, music, movies, gifts, and really unique decorations. I hated that it went out of business. I bought an aquamarine reindeer with hot pink antlers from there once, and I still have it. I love that thing!

@AmbiePam I know the name but never shopped there. The only Borders store here was on the far side of Springfield from me. Springfield is roughly 40 or 45 miles away and Barnes & Noble was closer by about ten miles. Yes, I could see you buying something like that.

People like to stick their nose up and snub Walmart..but I am going with them as the price is right. There are loads of luxury brands I like, but I am not including them as I am no longer in that income bracket.

I try and shop at our local mom and pop stores every chance I get. But if I have to pick a national chain it would probably be Wal Mart as they are the only one close in our town. And for the record, I rarely buy from Amazon, it's been probably over 2-3 years since I last did.

I have three favorite stores that I order from. I pick the one that has the best prices for that week. Safeway had Progressive soup for 97cents this week. Limit of 12. So I bought 12 cans of soup. They had the ice cream that I like real cheap and chips were 97cents a bag. Those were the $4.79 bag. Limit of 4 so I got four. I buy in bulk at Costco and buy other items at Walmart that are cheaper.

@AmbiePam - We have to order before 5 p.m. to get our package the day after. It's a great service and often I order instead of going to the Mall to search for what I need.

I really like Overstock, they have some cool stuff at reasonable prices. Of course right now, I'm just busy trying to buy food, not much in the way of extras going on right now, just necessities.
