Even @NJChicaa could not deliver puke faces for this delectable treat. My gosh, I absolutely LOVE fried potatoes. And they are so cheap and easy to make, which makes it even that much better.
By the way, in the picture these are only partially done. They will be more browned when they are done.
But it is our side, or one of them, for tonight's dinner. I just toss in a little real butter and then add the potatoes. Coat them and cook them for a bit. Add some salt and pepper and garlic powder. Then add in chopped onions. Cook that for a bit and then toss in some Parmesan cheese and voila!
Fried potatoes. They taste so good and I am very much looking forward to eating these. Do you make fried potatoes? Is your recipe similar or do you do them a different way?

We really love fried potatoes. I fry them in bacon grease when I have it, salt, black pepper, onion powder (can't eat real onions), then when browned I sometimes sprinkle with cheddar cheese and a large spoonful of sour cream.

@MarieCoyle Every once in a while I put a little Ketchup on them if I don't have any sour cream.

I rarely fry anything anymore. But once in a while, one or both of my sons will ask for fried potatoes. I like to use bacon drippings when I have them (I drain the bacon and save the grease) and of course they have to have onions. I slice my potatoes fairly thin as the kids all want them to be crispy. We have never put any cheese on them. One of my daughters puts a bit of ketchup on hers but ketchup is not my thing for some reason--which is strange as I love tomatoes and tomato based dishes.

Oh yes. Bacon grease is the best. I usually save some when I cook bacon, which I usually bake in the oven to cut down on the mess. But I don't have any grease right now, so just butter for this batch. But yummy with bacon grease.
All of your combinations are perfect. There really is no wrong way to eat them IMO.

I love fried potatoes, and will usually make them for breakfast, alternating between them and hash browns. I usually don't do anything fancy to them other than seasoning them.

@porwest It’s taken me a lot of years of practice, because I used to be the same way. If I follow the cooking instructions on the bag of hash browns, it’s guaranteed it will be a disaster, so I just cook them my way that I have perfected over the years.

You HAVE to be kidding me. Seriously? One of THE MOST popular combinations in chicken wings even, Parmesan and garlic, and you are telling me that won't taste good with potatoes?
Garlic and Parmesan with pasta. Garlic and Parmesan with pizza. Garlic and Parmesan with nearly ANY Italian dish. Garlic and Parmesan with spaghetti. Garlic and Parmesan garlic bread.
You CAN'T be serious.

@NJChicaa I don't get you at all. Even cheesy potatoes is one of THE most popular combinations there is. Cheese on baked potatoes even. In fact, baked potatoes coated with butter and garlic and Parmesan wrapped in tin foil is EXTREMELY common.
I think you are joshing me. You CANNOT be serious. I'm not buying it. NOT FOR A SECOND.
Even one of THE MOST popular mashed potato offerings at restaurants. Garlic Paremsan mashed potatoes.
Nope. You are joking. You HAVE to be. There is NO WAY you are being serious.

I was going to say they don’t looked browned, but they are only partially done. Browned is very good.

Oh, those fried potatoes look like pure comfort food! Your cooking process sounds absolutely delicious with the real butter, garlic powder, onions, and Parmesan cheese – a symphony of flavors! I can almost smell the enticing aroma through the screen.

You know since I am not a fan of peeling potatoes I have been eating fries, I do love fried potatoes but unfortunately, all I have is a hot plate and potatoes do not fry right in a non-stick pan. If I knew how to make the kind of fried potatoes I used to enjoy making I would stop buying the fries and buy regular potatoes,

I always keep a couple packs of bacon in the freezer, but don't use them often simply because bacon is so expensive. BUT, I have not cooked bacon in my potatoes in quite some time, and now that you mention it, may have to break out a pack very soon and do it. That's DELICIOUS.

Fried potatoes and onions.
I did fried potatoes for breakfast Sunday. I diced them into small pieces so they cooked faster. Seasoned with sea salt, garlic powder, and dried thyme. Towards the end I added diced white onion and let it cook. Then I added turkey bacon I cut into small strips and fried earlier. And on top of all that I poured some two beaten eggs with half-n-half and African Smoke spice from Trader Joes. I guess you can call it a potato/bacon omelet lol. Came out really good.
The way we usually make potatoes though is fried potatoes with mushrooms and onions. That's an Eastern European staple.

I could eat potatoes every day. Cooked in many ways. I don't use onions often but they are good when you make them like this, sort of like hashbrowns. And of course, cheese is a great addition, no matter how they are cooked. I also slice them thin and cook them with an egg on top sometimes as well. So good mixed together. My Mom always used bacon grease. Another great way to add flavor.
