What usually wakes you up?

Some of you, especially those who still work, will say an alarm wakes you up. Maybe some of you are like me, and you automatically wake up around the same time naturally due to years of previous times you woke up for a job or school. One of my aunts told me she wakes up at the smell of coffee, which she has on a timer. Too bad you can’t do that automatically with the smell of bacon. I used to wake up with my dog, Sherlock, on my chest, just watching and waiting for me to show movement so he could start making noise. That was a great way to wake up! So how do you normally wake up each morning?

There are 3 ways I'm awakened, the first is I gotta pee, then Roscoe and Tuffy are romping and they step on me and the last is Roscoe sticking his cold nose right twixt my eyes, that one always wakes me up.

The nose thing sounds absolutely adorable, although I’m sure it doesn’t always feel like it.

It can be shocking if you're not deep asleep.

I wake up on my own, though sometimes later than I care to.

You seem to get up fairly early for waking up on your own.

My body clock just tells me to wake up early! I haven't slept well for over a decade . . . I literally wake up every 2-3 hours (at that time, I think it's my own head gears that gets me up). And no matter what, my body won't allow me to sleep in ever. I rise with the sun!

My mom said after becoming a parent she never got a full night’s sleep. I wonder if it is motherhood.

@AmbiePam It may be so! Especially when kids go to school . . . moms have no choice but to get up before everyone and get the household started/ready for their day!

My hubby sets his alarm for 5am, but I never hear it. He comes into the bedroom and wakes me an hour later.

I wake up a 4am as I usually wake up at that time for my yoga exercises but my dog wakes me up when I am late by resting his chin on my hands or body.

@AmbiePam Yes, he looks very cute then. He wakes me up as he wants his chew sticks and warm milk early in the morning.

I naturally wake up at about 5 minutes until 5 a.m. If I have to work I get up.Alarm goes off at 5. For just in case, I have one set at 6 as well. Sometimes I get to go back to sleep. I rarely sleep past 7 a.m.

I always wondered about people who could sleep until noon in their day off. I mean, how? I couldn’t even do that as a child out of school.

Wow that’s neat the smell of coffee on a timer wakes her up. My alarm or my 2 year old wake me up whichever comes first.

I'm up all night; so I really don't "wake up" at a specific time. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I wake up at 4 am using my alarm. After that I am just waking up at my normal hour. I am waking up with my cat sometimes and she loves me a lot. She is just watching and waiting.

Usually it's pretty spontaneous, though noises from other people's activity (like my son getting ready for school) are good wake-up calls.

As a staff member in company,i wake up when the alarm clock went off each weekdays. But on weekend,i can wake up naturally around the time when alarm clock goes off.Maybe i don't need alarm any more, but having alarm is more relieved.

Yes, even though I wake up early naturally, I set an alarm if I have to be somewhere the next morning, just in case.

I mostly wake up as soon as I sense sunlight. But have an alarm as backup. Sometimes though the backup does not work as intended... Wife gets up about an hour after me, she has this auto clock that never fails her If I eat too much salt in the day, its a getup in the wee hours

Sometimes the smell of coffee wakes me up as my daughter drinks it. But it makes me nauseous. I wake up naturally on my own time, but sometimes if my watch is near my head the vibration will wake me up. It is in sleep mode until 10:30 so no vibrations before 10:30. But it does vibrate when sleep mode is turning off, and then if notifications come in after that. I prefer to wake up on my own since I have so much trouble sleeping. My goal for 8 hours of sleep at night is not reached very often (though I did it last night).

I always wake up at the same time naturally, as it is a long time habit to get up at 5. Often I wake up earlier if I hear a noise, or I see a light.

I often wake around 5, check the time on the clock radio and black out. I used to automatically wake at 7 but lately I have gone back to sleep until 7:30. You bet the cat crew is ready for me to get into servant mode.
