Today is Black Friday. As some of you may be doing some online shopping, here's a reminder -- Porch pirates are everywhere these days. Make sure you snap that package off the porch as soon as it arrives!!! Hope all of you in the US had a really good Thanksgiving. We had a good day; but hubby had to work way too hard. Don't know what we will do next year. Space scientists are trying to understand the source of a mysterious cosmic ray that was observed in Utah. It came from beyond our Milky Way galaxy. A Norovirus outbreak has been linked to a $1 burrito special from a restaurant that offered this deal to Northwestern University students. Patrons reported stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea after eating at the restaurant. The Evanston Health and Human Services Department reported that the restaurant does not have an employee health policy. The virus likely was spread via the food by someone that did not wash their hands diligently. Air pollution from coal-fired facilities has turned out to be more deadly than originally reported. Exposure is associated with a 2.1x greater mortality rate than particle pollution from other sources. Instead of being expelled when you exhale, particles can get stuck in your lungs or enter your bloodstream. This can lead to respiratory problems, chronic kidney disease, cancer, stroke, heart attack, can aggravate asthma and cause depression and anxiety. 116 days until spring!
