Today is Small Business Saturday. Try and visit local small businesses to do some holiday shopping. Today I will start working on Christmas cards. I will send them out around December 1. Over half of the people who get COVID still have symptoms after 3 years. 1.3 million chickens had to be culled after bird flu was found in a Union County egg farm in Ohio. Human cases remain rare with only 1 person contracting the HSN1 virus. The world's largest iceberg (1,500 square miles - 3x the size of New York City) has broken off and is drifting past the northern tip of Antarctic Peninsula via the wind and currents. Depending on which route it takes, it could become grounded at South Georgia Island and block breeding and foraging grounds for seals, penguins and sea birds...or it could make its way up to South Africa and disrupt shipping. Another possibility is that it could break into chunks. 115 days until spring. Breakfast - None Lunch - Lentil soup Dessert/Snack - Triple chocolate muffin and decaf coffee Dinner - Turkey sandwich...YUM! What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Pixabay

Yes, it certainly could; and if all the ice melts at both poles, we are in big trouble.

I have read that Covid symptoms are there to stay for years. My niece had Covid and she is tired all the time. I have read about the iceberg, scary.

@LadyDuck That's a shame. Usually if you are vaccinated you have a milder reaction. Maybe it was a different strain.

Yesterday, I had ham, green bean casserole, dressing, a deviled egg, mashed potatoes, a piece of pumpkin cake, and later, popcorn. The meal was so big I didn’t need to eat much, later.

I saw on SM that this could cause problems around the Panama Canal for shipping but hadn't seen it from the iceberg standpoint.

I shopped today, but it was at a chain grocery store. No savings nor deals there. I am actually stocking up on items that they are saying will increase in cost in 2024.

@LindaOHio I have read that coffee, cocoa and oils are going up. I need to buy some peanut butter still, I have not got any extra of that in the pantry. It would make for a really well-read post, I hope that you can do one up. Anna and I were chatting about it last week.

@Juliaacv Thanks. Is peanut butter going up too? I'll have to grab a jar of decaf instant.

Does going to Urgent Care count for visiting a small business. I also went to Dollar Tree. I know it is a chain, but I can get what I want easily.

Turkey...yum! Yes, if all the ice melts, those at a low sea level will be in danger.

Yup. It will cause the oceans to rise; and places like the Keys and New Orleans will be history.

I hope the iceberg won't cause trouble to wildlife or shipping. I love lentil soup. I had Thanksgiving sides yesterday. I only have turkey and stuffing left from Thursday.

@LindaOHio I had a friend introduce me to lentil soup many years ago. My children were little. Now, I make it homemade at least once a year.

I try to make supporting small business a year-round thing. I think it is vitally important to the economy and even more important to competition. For dinner last night I just had leftover creamy potato soup.

I went to Chuy’s, which is behind a mall. Aren’t I the brave one??? For dinner I had more peaches and leftovers!! Oh, and a Peppermint Patty. I got some out of the “sales bin” candy aisle, and I have one on Friday night and one on Saturday after lunch….two points for the weekly treat!!!
