Just thought I'd drop in for a minute

I don't have much fall color but my virginia creeper gives me a few orange leaves about this time of year.

So howz ya'll doin? Got a question for US citizens, are you still eatin turkey sandwitches?? I've always been the 'guest' when family got together so I'd bring the wine or beer or something and never did get to eat turkey sandwitches. I hope they're good. I came across this neat song that I'd forgotten about, to me it was a really kool song from the 1960s and I wonder how many of you have ever heard it, well you old folks that is, I'm 74 so to me it was a really kooool song, howz about you?

I hadn’t heard that song until now, but it sounds spacey and “far out”. We had ham, so I’m more of a ham sandwich person. But this year, I said forget the bread, I’ll just eat the leftover ham by itself.

Hey, that'd make a good omelette just add cheese and veggies. Oh yeah, that song is really far out, I loved it.

Oh wow, you were born the year after it was released. You must like the old psychedelic rock n roll that seemed to fade out after a while.

@rebelann I'll be 56 in five months. Mom was at the beginning of her second trimester with me when the song was released, so during its time getting airplay, my hearing had developed. And yes, I have been a fan of Psychedelic Rock my whole life. But I must be careful because I was exposed to it so young; it can get so relaxing that I fall asleep.

I'm dropping in for a minute right now too ! We rarely get to have "real" turkey sandwiches . . . there's never that much turkey leftover. But the times we did, oh yah, they are quite tasty especially if you put other leftover stuff in with it! I don't know this song, but hey, I love that groove! I think I want to bookmark that and listen to it a few times more . . . that was pretty koooool!

You probably haven't, it was a psychedelic rock song from the late 1960s by Eric Burdon & the Animals. They were popular in England & the USA & possibly also Europe at the time. The name of the tune is 'Monterey'

Hi Rebecca, I'm mostly offline finally getting some housework done ...... I hate it but it was necessary and of course there's sooooo much to be done. I'll have to write about it when I've turned that corner where I can tell myself 'Job well done'

I'm on a coffee break, the project is coming along but it's a lot messier than I anticipated. The only fun I'm having are those tiny coffee and snack breaks. My hips are killin me

This is a beautiful song, I am only one year younger, so for me also it's a really coool song. We used to bake a SMALL turkey for Christmas, but I recycled the leftover to prepare other dishes and never made turkey sandwiches.

@rebelann - You are right, I should share some of those recipes. I particularly liked to make potato croquettes adding minced turkey leftovers. I also used to stuff zucchini. The white parts were good to prepare a "chicken soup".

It's been at least 2 decades since I've had home cooked turkey, mostly I buy prepacked sliced turkey if I'm in the mood for it.

I've had my last turkey sandwich and this week it's back to trying to figure out what to make for dinner. It was nice having leftovers and just having to heat and eat for the last few days. Good thing I love turkey I'm old enough to know that song but I don't

I've never made a turkey mostly because I live alone but sometimes I get the prepackaged slices just so I can make a sandwitch

No turkey sandwiches but enjoyed plenty of dessert. Interesting tune. I think their song "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" is their best tune though.

My little one is sleeping so I can’t listen to the song. What is it called? I stopped eating meat when I was 7 but my husband does eat sandwiches with the leftover Turkey. We still have some left and people are probably really sick of eating it daily here so I need to look at some recipes tomorrow and see if I can find something to make with it like some enchiladas or something.
