Things have gone from bad to worse. I tried to go to the hospital, and was told I wasn't allowed to visit. When I went to inquire into the situation, the claim was I was feeding George. And, they were concerned that I'd do it again. They claim the reason his breathing is so bad, is him aspirating food. Now, there's only two ways that could've happened. G-tube placement, is one possibility. Or, he's swallowing some of what he's trying to cough up. Being on his back in bed, does not help. And, I've been told, next step is to put him back on the vent. I am strongly thinking about looking into him being moved somewhere else to be re-assested.

Oh, honey, I’d be in there with a lawyer too quick to talk about, telling them to prove it or you were going to sue them for emotional distress.

I will have to look into it. If I can get him into brooks, then it'll be a lot easier. It's only while he's on the ICU floor.

@FourWalls I plan on looking into it. It's a risk, if I can't find a place to take him, because he does have aspiration pnominia.

Is there a lawyer you could call? What they are doing to you justifies looking into legal action.

@AmbiePam And, as much as I hate the wait-and-see game, that's what I need to play for now. If I go down a legal rabbit hole too soon, then that could hurt George.

I have a couple options. I need to approach this with a clear head.

Yikes, and their immediate reaction is to blame and ban you? I think you need a patient advocate..and I hope you can get him moved. Things obviously aren't working well at that hospital.

No, they aren't. But Brooks touched base with me, so hopefully he improves. And, if not..... well..... can't blame me if I am not there, right?

Bad to worse is right. I'd be expressing my concerns elsewhere I think. I agree with Amber. And the sooner the better.

@kaylachan .....Kayla if you know you did nothing wrong I would take a deep breath and move forward. Just FYI-- I would be keeping track of any interaction with them from now on. Talk to someone knowledgeable( don't they have patient advocates?) and that will help you not feel quite so scared. Have found out anything about getting him reassessed? Hugs to you.

@celticeagle No. Though I did run into one of his doctors, and he said he'd look into the persistent anomia thing for me. Because while George is doing better, he seems to be stuck in this vicious cycle.

I am, but I'm playing a dangerous game. I have to find a place to take him, that I could feasibly get to.

I do, I just don't want to take it to court if I don't have to. And, then there's a risk, that the hospital can find "proof" and then adult protective services could get involved and I all but loose my husband.

How dare they, seriously. What proof do they have - that's so wrong to accuse of this - like I said in another comment, all is not how it seems. We were asked if we had fiddled with one of my dad's machines - of course not - why would we do such a thing. Ugh. Moving him might be a good idea.

Oh, I know. Especially how the story changes. Some nurses are sticking with the idea I "fed him" based on his telling them. Yesterday, they claimed a nurse "witnessed" me feed him.

@kaylachan There is something severely wrong with the system for sure. Again, I am sorry this is inflicted on you with their mean ways. It is like they have you cornered in there..as you can't leave George..I know what and how they use this against people.

It really very painful to see a loved one suffering and the hospital people being uncooperative. I faced the same situation and ultimately lost him.

This is just wrong. I hope you call a malpractice lawyer or someone. I am not well versed on how to go about this, but you need some help. I am just so sorry, Kayla.

I plan to look into what I can do, and get a consult at the very least. But, Brooks called and said that I can be with him. So long as he has no food or drink in his room while he's npc.

Nope, nope, nope this can not happen you have to, must get to speak to hospital administration or find a lawyer and see what your rights are this must be changed, My thoughts are if you can get him somewhere better to be assessed to do that as quickly as you can,

If you are not feeding him, they should not be doing this and getting to the bottom of what's really going on. I hope you can find another place. Like I said before, this place sounds like a nightmare.
