Arctic zombie viruses in Siberia could start a new pandemic. These viruses frozen in the Arctic permafrost could be released by the warming climate of the Earth. Scientists have started to plan an Arctic monitoring network to catch early cases caused by the ancient micro-organisms. They will quarantine and have expert medical treatment available. At the present time focus is on southern diseases that may spread north rather than diseases in the far north that could spread south. Research shows that the zombie viruses can still infect a cultured cell...one was 48,500 years old. However, there are poxviruses and herpesviruses in the permafrost that can infect a human.

@LindaOHio It was nice, this morning since we have to drive about 30 minutes to do the twins birthday shopping, my hubby suggested that we go to a place for brunch that we haven't been to in probably 8 or 9 years. I am really looking forward to that.

They were able to infect a single cell organism with the ancient viruses...scary stuff.

SIGH I have enough to worry about without worrying about the possibility of wild viruses. I wonder if Hollywood will finally make a giant virus epic. I have fried tater tots and a burger which I unfroze before cooking,

They were talking about something similar to this a decade ago. I guess Covid and RSV aren't scary enough to try to control the public anymore. Oh well, I am sure some people will be scrambling as we speak and the shelves should be devoid of toilet paper again. lol
For dinner I made up a pot of beef vegetable soup. Yummy stuff. I put in some celery, onion, Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes and of course, chopped up beef chuck roast.

I love Brussels sprouts. This pandemic stuff I think is just in its infant stage. I think we are going to get walloped by a big one some day.

@porwest I love Brussels sprouts done that way. Red Lobster does them with a little bit of honey and browns them up in the pan.

@LindaOHio Maybe. Who knows? One day at a time, I guess. As for Brussels sprouts, me too, and luckily I have some left that I didn't use for the soup. Going to cook them up, I think in bacon grease and butter with some salt and pepper.

I’m glad to hear someone praise that show when so many people started complaining after the second season. It made an impact on television, that’s for sure.
Yesterday, I had creamy chicken soup, some carrots and celery, popcorn, and some strawberry cream cheese with bagel chips.
