Monday Morning Brief and Sunday Update

Good morning from sunny Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The temp today is supposed to climb to 40 F today. Balmy! And then winter returns. At least we'll be back in the 30s F for the rest of the week.
Can I say Oops? It feels like an oops. Today is the day for my dinner party with my pastor and his wife. I planned on pot roast. That's not what I'm making.
First, though, let me update you on Sunday. It was a wonderful day. It started out at church. Pastor gave a wonderful sermon on Love from John 3:16. Then it was home.
I cleaned the bathroom before church and the kitchen counters. After church, I swept and washed the bathroom and kitchen floors. The apartment is ready. So, it was time to watch a movie. Next up on my stack of Christian movies was Ben Hur, with Charlton Heston and Stephen Boyd. Next week I'll watch the new Ben Hur. It's okay, I've watched it a few times, but I like the one I watched yesterday much better. Though I will say, I like the ending of the new one.
I also watched a couple of my shows and was in bed by 8 PM. I knew I needed to be up early this morning.
So, this morning. I did the laundry, ran the dishwasher, and cleaned my bedroom and made the bed.
Now for the oops. I planned on pot roast with all the trimmings. I bought what I thought was small pot roasts back in October when I planned this dinner party. What I took out of the freezer and read the label was beef tenderloin - filet mignon. I've never made filet mignon in my life. I've already been online looking at instructions and printing up the recipes.
I need to go to the store. I also need to find a cast-iron skillet. I hope someone among my friends here has one. I don't need much from the store, but I do need fresh rosemary and fresh garlic. I have everything else to make it.
So, there's a menu change. Instead of pot roast with the typical fixings, I'm making filet mignon, cheesy mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I'm also making a lettuce salad and an apple crisp for dessert.
Other than dinner plans, I'll try to get the notifications done, and work a little on Wilderness Cry. No guarantees on how much of either I'll get done today.
I was also here for a moment yesterday when my phone showed me we got paid. I wanted to see the $ signs.
Okay, those are the plans and the update for yesterday. How's your day going? Time to get down for exercise class. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

They will love the filet. I have a focus group on glaucoma today for $$. Other than that, no plans. Have a good day.

@MommyOfEli2013 Thank you. I'm hoping the next time the timer goes off the carrots will be done. This is the third time I've put them in.

I never made filet mignon. I think I might be nervous trying it for the first time as a new dish for company. Good luck! I hope it turns out delicious.

Hope your dinner turns out good. I would have just slow cooked those and used them as a roast probably

Let me start off by saying that we're supposed to get snow overnight and into tomorrow. I think it's a mistake and it was supposed to be yours??
Filet Mignon sounds delicious and hope you have a wonderful dinner party tonight. Your day sounds busy, busy, busy.

It is busy. I've been to the store to get the necessary seasonings for the filet mignon. I have the apple crisp in the oven. Alexa is timing it for me.
Yes, that snow is supposed to be mine. It got misdirected. Darn!
