Went to Walmart today, and was looking for broccoli and cheese soup. Saw some cans on the top shelf, but could not see what kind of soup they were. I reached up on the top shelf (I'm 5'3") and tried to pull the box forward, but somehow a can of soup next to it fell, and hit me just a tiny bit below my cheek. It hurt, the edge hit me. Still hurts if I touch it..ok..I know..don't touch it and it won't hurt. LOL Just hoping it doesn't bruise. So if you are short and there is something on the top shelf...Please ask someone to help you, don't be so independent, and just realize the world was not made for short people. LOL

Hope you don't bruise, must have been sore! I was going to suggest opera glasses, not realising those are now vintage items
.
I'm 6'1" and the bottom shelf cause me problems, I do sometimes wonder what people think of me on my knees in a supermarket

Oh! Sorry about that. I hope that it doesn't get the bruise and the pain gets better. It's always good to ask for help.
I am five feet eight inches tall. And I hate to bend down to check things. I guess we all have our own set of problems for our height.

I have the same problem when reaching for something on the top shelf in a supermarket. I hope you did not get a bruise.

Stores build their shelves higher and higher, even though there are many short people. Too bad they do not have enough workers to be handy and help you reach. Maybe you should put some ice on your injury.

Ouch. Hope everything's okay. I used to joke, since I was about five inches taller than my mother, that the reason she had me was so I could reach things for her in the grocery store. Glad she was never assaulted by canned goods--at least not while I was around.

Yes, but only have seen then in the pet section and the housewares section. LOL Funny though, those signs are so far up, hard to read them. LOL Have always been the kind of person to just try, then worry about it later. Sometimes if I can't reach something I go look for something that I can use to reach it. Then I put the "tool" back where I got it.

I am fairly short. Sometimes I have to ask for help to reach something, too. I hope you didn’t get a bad bruise.

You know what they say right? follow your own advice
that's the 1st thing you have to keep in mind when it
comes to getting things you know you can't reach.
Cause the shelf could have fell on top of you or
you could have fell on the floor reaching for it
I'm 5-4 & I even know not to reach what I can't get.

I am short and cannot reach the top shelf. When I look for help at times there is no one around. I am sorry your cheek still hurts.
