In Nature

Well, on vacation, I also went hiking. Did I want to? Uh, no. Let me amend that to say I wanted to go hiking when I thought it was a regular path. My friend likes to go explore nature conservation areas, and she looked one up in Branson. I wanted to be supportive, so when she told me she wanted us to go, I said sure. Oh, what a mistake that was. Even SHE had never seen a trail like this. It was rough terrain, and the kind of paths I was surprised to see for such a popular area. She’s been hiking dozens of places, but for what was termed “easy”, she was caught unprepared. After about a mile, we turned back. My back was very pleased by that (and so were her knees). I did get some lovely shots (one is pictured).
By the way, for those of you who remember my concern about sharing a room with her because she snored…the very big bedroom just had a king size bed, so I took the pull out couch. She DID voice concern about my back when I took the couch, but I insisted (politeness is a hard habit to break). The first night I was shocked my back did so well. By the last night my back growled at me and told me I was stupid.
How much time do you spend in nature?

When I lived in Montana, we did quite a bit of mountain hiking and trails. I can no longer do that, I wish I could. I can walk fine on a flat trail, but add rocks or steep terrain and I am out of there! I'm glad you turned back and didn't push further to walk that trail, Amber.
Couch sleeping isn't bad, it just depends on the couch. I have a hide-a-bed in my spare bedroom, I have slept on it before and my son does, often. We both think it's fine. My back is just old! But he has had several back surgeries, and he likes that bed, says it feels good to him.

I really want to return there at some point, and visit my old haunts. Also, my younger son (the one who lives right here) was born there, and hasn't been there since he was 4. He would like to visit and see it again. Maybe someday!

Beautiful! Trails that aren't trail-like can be hard (sometimes scary) - I know I've huffed and puffed through some of 'em. We go hiking a lot when the weather is good . . . I do as best as I can with this funky left knee. Hope your back is doing better now!

That is a lovely view, Right now I spend more time in four walls, however, I am planning on getting myself out at least twice a week to one of the closest parks here and the beach where I can walk to, I hope your back will feel better,

That's a lovely picture. I'm sorry the path was so rough. I can't spend time in nature anymore because of my spinal issues. I can't walk very far or stand very long. Have a good week.

@AmbiePam I don't get depressed which I find very strange. I did get low yesterday though, wanting to talk to my hubby!!!

Well, sounds like not so much fun especially with a rough trail. Hate your back ended up growling at you, I know how that is. I live in a wooded area, and don't venture out. Not my cup of tea.

Well, at least you got some good pics. So, did you sleep on the couch the whole time? Maybe she should have slept on the couch once or twice and offered you the bed

I'm sorry about your back, and her knees. I like nature sparingly.
