Going out tonight

Our lifestyle village has a social committee who come up with all sorts of interesting activities for the residents. Tonight’s is a ‘soup night’. Every Friday, people gather in the clubhouse. Some order fish and chips or pizzas and a couple of people collect all the orders and bring them back to the clubhouse. We might play games or just sit and chat for an hour or two.
Tonight, several residents have cooked up big pots of soup. A small charge will be made which will go to swell the funds of the social committee. Hopefully, those who make the soup will be reimbursed but they’ll probably donate their time and the soup.
These evenings are well attended and gives residents the opportunity to meet, chat and meet new residents.

That's wonderful that your community is socially engaged. I'm sure all the activities are fun, and it's a great way to meet and make new friends and get to know all of your neighbors.

@moffittjc We moved in stage 5 and have been here 3 years. The first people moved in about 3 years before that.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks. A week ago Vince wasn't able to walk as far as the clubhouse even though it's only perhaps 100 yards. But he does it easily now.

So hopefully, people will get to have a variety of "Soups" in different flavors, along with other things.

Glad you have such a nice community, Sounds like you have a good time, I was just going to comment that it is odd you are having soup in the summer but then realized that you are on the other side of the world and it's winter, Enjoy your weekend,

I could eat soup any old time. I'll be sure to write about the soups. I think we'll have a choice of three plus crusty bread. As many bowls as you want for $2.
