Went to visit him yesterday and brought him Pork Lo Mein which he has been asking for. Spent the couple hours there watching him eat. Not fun but he was happy.
His 2nd cousin brought me there; and today she will be going back with her rolling suitcase and starting to clear out some of the things that he isn't using. He has quite a few clothes in a dresser that he doesn't wear.
I am calling the judge's team today to see if they will extend the deadline for receiving records for my husband's appeal/hearing case. I still do not have the physical therapy records from the facility. Apparently they come from a different company.
My husband doesn't want me to ask if he will be home in a week; but that's what I'm hoping for.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

Why wouldn't he want you to ask? Did he give any reason for that?

@LindaOHio Well that's probably understandable but the PT guy said he would be going home soon right? I thought ,you were going to call or email them?

@LindaOHio
Who makes the decisions to release a patient there? Do they have just the PT department decide, or a Dr.? I am curious, I know here the patient gets evaluated by several different medical people and then they make their decision.
Guess I’m nosy because I know I would call and ask. But I understand, you aren’t doing that because he doesn’t want you disappointed.

@porwest He's messy when he eats. I kept picking noodles off his gown; and he kept telling me to stop it! Gotta love him.

He probably feels more like eating if you are there. Good to get some of his stuff brought home.

When he comes home we are having pizza and Chinese. His 2nd cousin can pick it up for us.

It's funny the things we can accumulate over time. George was in the hospital and in-patient rehab for only two weeks, but oh boy I wish I'd been able to make arragments with my neighbor to bring the van.

@LindaOHio Have you worked out the physical therapy thing for once he gets home?

@TheHorse The facility doctor is arranging for 2 weeks of physical therapy once he gets home. That's covered by insurance. Then it's $40 per session and he must go out to a PT location.

He must've enjoyed that pork lo mein . . . surely that's not something on the menu there. How great it would be if all of his stuff could be packed for his return home now. I do think it would be a good idea if they could give a time frame of when he might be able to go home . . . it would give you time to prepare too.

We're going ahead and getting ready for his return. One load of stuff has been packed up and I put his pop in the fridge and got him a couple of things for his comfort that I put on his table.

I'm sure you hubby was happy with his lo mein and you were happy for the visit.
Hope you can get an extension for the hearing and can get those darn PT records for the judge.
Sounds like things have progressed well enough that your hubby will be coming home,

I wonder why your husband doesn't want you to ask if he will be home. Probably because he is not sure.
