8/8/24 - Update On My Husband

Sorry I've been MIA. We had a big storm and tornado warning on Tuesday. Just a few miles from us they had downed trees and wires; but we just had torrential rain and wind. Our Spectrum TV/Internet/Phone was down from Tuesday afternoon to 12:30 AM on Thursday.
It's been difficult trying to talk to my husband with our landline down. I was able to get a message to him on Tuesday for him to call my cell phone; but there was no answer at the nurses' station last night.
They have him on oxygen and are giving him breathing treatments according to the Social Worker's office. The person I spoke with says it could still be possible that he could come home this weekend. I kinda doubt that but we shall see.
He had physical therapy yesterday; but I couldn't talk to my husband to see how it went.
My husband said on Wednesday that he doesn't really like being alone in a room with the door closed. I'm sure he doesn't miss the loud talking and TV.
I should be able to speak with him tonight now that the landline is operational again.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

Being alone can be hard and a bit scary. I know that George wasn't a fan when I'd been kicked out that week. After he got home, he found it hard to sleep alone. In some ways, I still think he does because he'll spend his most of the night on the couch instead of our bed.
You get used to life a certian way, and things like television and talking seem like small annoyances compared to silence.

I hope he continues to improve and gets stronger soon. I also do wonder if his roommate came down with Covid, maybe that’s why he is not in the same room?
I hope you had no storm damage other than lines down. I know it’s no fun.

He's not in the same room because my husband is quarantined. No damage here...down the road there are 350,000 without power and trees and lines down.

That happened to me a few years back. The next town north, just about 5 minutes away, got nailed by a nasty tornado. It wiped out so, so many homes and businesses there. And we got...a bit of wind and hail. So many lost so much. It's so strange how tornadoes just randomly hit one area and not another close by.

Better make sure he is okay before going home.

It was quite breezy here yesterday but I don't think anything came down, other than a lot of spent hibiscis blossoms.

Hopefully he will be able to get out of quarantine soon. I don't think you want him home until he is testing negative for Covid.

Spoke with him last night. He is coughing a lot; and his chest is all congested.

Your hubby probably feels totally isolated being in the room alone and the door shut. Even if he's not ready to come home right away I'm sure they'll move him back to a room with a roommate. Continued prayers for his recovery and coming home.
No internet, no land line and a tornado warning. Geez that must have been scary.

Thank you for your prayers. I didn't go down the basement because I could never get back up the steps.
