105 days until spring. Found out some bad news about the post office/mailbox situation. You cannot just go and pick up your mail each week. They stated that they don't have a pickup service. Once you pick up your mail, they will start delivering again; and if the mailbox is not "serviceable", they will return your mail to each sender. This means that I will have to leave my mail there until the s**w clears up enough to put up the mailbox. I won't know what bills need to be paid, etc. My husband's 2nd cousin hasn't been able to come over because she has an earache. Hopefully today (12/6). Breakfast - Protein bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels didn't show up - Had a turkey/Swiss sandwich and chips Dessert/Snack - Blueberry muffin Dinner - PB&J sandwich and Fritos What did you eat yesterday? It's one thing after another over there for you. Does it ever end? lol. For dinner I made a pork fried rice dish. It was delicious as usual.

Did you tell them your situation? I would think they would try to work with you especially since you have medical issues. I wonder if they could flag your address and set up a post office box for you until spring.

@LindaOHio ........Yes, I understand that. I just thought if it were a smaller community perhaps they could set up a box and somehow be notified to put your mail in that box when it came instead of delivering it to your home. Then you could pick it up. Gone are the days when places did special things for others.

They are very strict on their policies. A PO box wouldn't work because the mail would have to be addressed as such.

@celticeagle They told me that they don't offer a pickup service. Once you pick up your mail, they will begin delivering it again.

Great, just great! I went to that luncheon it was a turkey and ham meal stuffing gravy, potatoes cranberries etc. It was OK, couldn't hold a candle to the other events like this I have been to though.

Went to Chuy’s for lunch, the lunch card was full so it was free and I got a second taco and had it for dinner. Pears last night (ha ha, surprise!) and fiber and yogurt.

@porwest Maybe so; but it makes the consumer feel good.

@LindaOHio Sometimes with these gimmicks, I always get the impression it's not really free. They just add a little to every meal and by the time I get to the free one, I have already technically paid for it. lol

You should be able to rent a box at least

It would have to be a PO Box and the mail would have to be written as such.

She should be able to, but she also shouldn't HAVE to. The county knocked the post over, they should have paid the bill. That's just wrong.

That makes no sense why you can't pick up your mail when you need...they could put a note that you need to pick it up until that gets fixed, not that hard! But everything/everyone has to make things harder for people!

Can you get some of your bills online and pay them that way?

@LindaOHio most of the time, it is good to pay online each time or set it to automatic pay depending on the company and getting bills paid on time.

@LindaOHio I just bought another mailbox. I am hoping we can put it where the carrier won't feel gripey about it. Picky! Oh so picky.
