I wish that were my age, lol. But tomorrow Dale and I will be married 59 years. I can hardly believe it.
He was in the Navy stationed in Hawaii and I was in my senior year of high school there (my father was in the Coast Guard.)
We had a small wedding with my parents, my brother and sister, and some friends...none of our relatives could come to Hawaii.
We married in the Chapel of a large Methodist church in Honolulu, then had our reception at the NCO club.
We spent a wonderful honeymoon in Waikiki at the Princess Kaiulani, then ate dinner the next night at Leronds, a restaurant that slowly revolved for a gorgeous view of the island at twilight.
A treasured memory, for sure.
Tomorrow we plan to go to a city about an hour away, do some shopping, then eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant.
I'm sure we'll do lots of reminiscing tomorrow night over a glass of wine about our wedding and honeymoon.
Praying we'll make 60 years, Lord willing.

Thanks so much, Amber. We had some tough times, who doesn't?, but we're best friends and neither of us could make it without each other.

That is wonderful! It must have been so gorgeous to get married in Hawaii. Sis and bro in law had a two week long honeymoon there. I think they should go back sometime, but Dave doesn't really like to travel much. And they do a fair amount going to see their boys. I have no doubt you will make 60!

I'm surprised we've made 59! We talked over the years about going back to Hawaii on vacation, but never did.

Gosh, how the time just whizzes by, hey? 59 years is a long time. Not sure my wife and I will make that. That wouldn't be until 2066 and I'd be 93 and my wife would be 99. We MIGHT make 50, but who knows?
Congrats to you and here's to making it to 60, and I look forward to that post from you next year.

@1creekgirl I hope that it is a really wonderful day today and that you can both recall your sweet memories from over the years.
My husband won't be home for a bit, so I have not heard how Ellie is just yet today. I hope that she is not in as much pain as she was yesterday.
