Just a Quickie

Yes, I’ve left home again. Yes, I’m in Pigeon Forge again. So this is just a quickie to say hi. I had a lovely drive down. Everything’s getting green, and that’s so fabulous to see after the wild winter we had. It’s exactly what you want to see after a long winter. When I checked in, I got a nice surprise: an upgrade to a suite. The photo is the jacuzzi in my suite. The room is divided into three sections: the bathroom is in the middle. It has both a shower and the hot tub, as well as two sinks. The front area is a sitting area with a refrigerator and a microwave, as well as a sofa bed and a TV. The king-sized bed and another TV is in the back. (That’s where I am.) After I checked in I took a quick drive to the overlook. Yes, it’s as beautiful as ever. Yes, the scars from that wildfire over eight years ago are still visible. And yes, I enjoyed every second of standing there, looking down over Gatlinburg. After admiring the Little Pigeon River and the overlook, I stopped at one of my favorite places around here to eat: Corky’s. It’s a BBQ place; and, as usual, that pulled chicken is delicious. Next Tuesday (the 29th) my brother is having rotator cuff surgery, so I won’t be gone too long. But it just feels good to be out again!
