Mother's Day will be celebrated another day for us.

Once again, health issues and strange schedules are causing my family to change plans for celebrating a day together. We did Easter late...and now we will do Mother's Day late, too.
Oldest son, his oldest boy has an out of town game that they had to leave today for, and the game is on Mother's Day (the parents weren't happy about this.) My son in law is getting over a terrible round of pneumonia, and we don't want to celebrate without him and my daughter there...they are afraid they will infect me and the other son if we get together now, so they are staying home. I am OK with celebrating another day.
I received a text from InstaCart earlier saying I had a delivery coming. I didn't order anything....but sure enough, I had a driver stop and deliver 2 big bags of coffee beans, and a beautiful Key Lime Pie. I am no big dessert lover but Key Lime Pie is so, so yummy...my youngest sent this to me, she lives in Florida. She never forgets..none of them do. I don't need gifts, but I do like to see them all.
So we had PIE for dessert, and it truly is delicious!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there, the Dads that have to fill both roles, the grandparents pulling a lot of weight in the upbringing of their grandchildren, the wonderful people who have furbabies and ''parent'' them, and those special souls that just help make the world better.

I haven’t made one for awhile, I did make one last summer for my daughter as she asked me to. This one was really good. I’m sure yours will be, too.

Happy mothers day sweet lady!
It doesnt matter when you celebrate it.
I don't know what the plan is. We did our gifts to my mil yesterday. She child got some to give her tomorrow and we are supposed to take he child to the store tomorrow afternoon to get presents for grandma.
Chris said he would be getting mine tomorrow, and she child got her present for mer Friday.
I think I am going to make fried shrimp and fries for dinner, other than that- there are no plans.

April, Happy Mother's Day to you, too. Being a Mom can sometimes be hard, but as we know, when we love the kiddos, it's just done out of love. And no, it doesn't matter when we celebrate it--in the past we have had to change our holiday to accommodate everyone, and we don't care that it's not on the 'right' day, we just enjoy our time together.
Last year, my older son and my daughter in law took me to see James Taylor for Mother's Day. A wonderful gift and memory. My kids are so sweet to me, I know I am so fortunate to be their Mom. I am glad that your family is celebrating you!
Shrimp and fries sounds absolutely delicious!

My daughter has to have surgery soon, my son in law had a respiratory flu thing that decided to turn into pneumonia, and normally he is healthy as a horse. Then there is my son, who basically has had a terrible two weeks of one crisis after another...so I am hopeful and trying to be as positive as possible. I appreciate all good wishes, it means a lot. @MarieCoyle - Most of the time I also bake my cakes at home, but I will buy one next Wednesday to celebrate my husband's birthday.

I never buy a pie or a cake at a store or bakery...so this was a huge treat, and we had a small piece last night after dinner. So, so good!! Thank you, Anna.

We will. We had to do Easter late and we have decided that the date can be changed when necessary to get us to be able to get together. For now, that’s what really matters! Thank you, DE.

It was a different Mother's Day than I am used to having, but hey...I heard from all my children, talked to grands, etc. so I am one happy mama/grandma this evening.

When we have to work around many different people's work schedules, etc. it can get dicey in a hurry. It often seems to be less hectic to just celebrate on a different day.

It is made from Key Limes, which are delicious. Sometimes, hard to find them in the Midwest. Kind of like a custard but...hard to explain. It is tart, yet sweet. Very good.

I can understand putting off celebrating until everyone can gather.
We are having a cold plate today for our gathering, which will be mid-day and are having a nice big fruit salad for dessert. I like cold plates and fruit salads.

Thanks for the good wishes. You are so right. There are dozens out there filling the role of 'Mum' without being a mother in the strict sense of the word. My Melbourne son sent a card which I received yesterday and he rang this morning. It's not Mothers Day in Ireland but his FB site always reminds him so I'm sure he'll ring later when he gets up. They are 8 hours behind us.
