Scientists have created a contact lens that allows the wearer to see flickering light in the dark with their eyes closed. They converted infrared light to visible light. Without the lenses the wearer cannot see anything. You will remember that less than 3 years ago I mentioned that McDonald's was opening spinoff restaurants called CosMc's. They offered coffee, teas, lemonades, slushes, breakfast sandwiches and small donut-like pastries called McPops. Sales have not supported the continuation of these restaurants; but drinks from CosMc's will be available in hundreds of McDonald's restaurants in the future. Breakfast - Protein bar Lunch - PB&J sandwich and chips Dessert/Snack - Chocolate chip muffin Dinner - PB&J sandwich I promise. I will dip into the frozen dinners today. What did you eat yesterday? I ate a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast this morning, ate some cherries and 1/4 of a roast beef and cheese sandwich for lunch and had some chocolate chip cookies for supper this evening. I'm offering some of the chocolate chip cookies if you want some? (Those are the size of my palm. ) You're an adult and can eat what you want...

Sure I'll take a cookie. Thanks. It's just so much easier for me to go in the fridge and grab a PB&J sandwich. The meat sandwiches are all gone.

@LindaOHio You're welcome... I wish I could offer real cookies instead of virtual ones... Pretty keeps sliced ham and sliced turkey in the fridge and freezer for me. I make up my own sandwiches. I like potato bread with either ham or turkey and American cheese. I wish you could keep sliced ham and turkey, too.

@DaddyEvil I have mega trouble getting around and even more trouble standing for more than a minute. It's much easier for cousin #2 to make sandwiches for me.

I can see flickering light with my eyes closed already, I don't need special contacts.

@BarBaraPrz I said without the lenses the wearer can't see anything. I'm assuming the wearers are blind?

Question, why would you want to see flickering lights? I was reading about a Mcdonalds knock off that will hopefully spread across the country. It is called Charlie's or McCharlies I believe and is a vegan alternative. I think it would be awesome to dine there. They have bright red wrappers on the food.

@LindaOHio Still though flickering lights don't sound very useful.

It is simply amazing what all scientists are coming up with nowadays. Always interesting to see what McDonald's comes up with.

I wonder if eventually they will help the blind see images as well.

I have read about those lenses, that use nanoparticles to let people see in the dark. It seems that eyeglasses with the same kind of material allow a much better vision than contact lenses, that are "too close to the retina".

Yes. I wonder if some day they will be able to invent something for the blind to see images as well?

@LindaOHio Something very expensive exists and a blind man was able to see. It's a new gene therapy.

I just came back from the USA & have to say I did not enjoy any food over there apart from a chicken salad. I found things far too sweet for my taste buds. I don't eat fast food usually. I did have a wagyu burger one day but could only eat half of it.

Yesterday, I had keto lasagna with cabbage instead of noodles and spicy sausage instead of hamburger meat. Then I had popcorn.

I returned to Mark’s for another chicken & cheese-stuffed baked potato, had more apples, ore fiber, and more cheesy potatoes for dinner. Maybe McDonald’s should concentrate on keeping their ice cream machines working.

I never heard of CosMc's. This is a small town so they would not get much business here.

I put some Walmart low fat ice cream bars in my cart. I can't order it by the carton because I will eat it all at once.

I had a very strong suspicion right from the start that CosMc's would be a short-lived venture, and here we are. For dinner, I'm not sure what you might call what I made. Cooked up meatballs and added onions and mushrooms. Then in with some mixed veggies, a can of cream mushroom soup, a little milk, garlic, Italian and oregano seasonings and cooked penne noodles all mixed together. Kind of like a meatball goulash of sorts. It was very good.

I don't remember about the Mcdonalds spin off restaurants - but that stinks. Would be interested in trying one of those drinks maybe. PB&J sandwiches are always good... I had pizza for one meal and chicken and fries for the other. A snack or two in the evening.
