The back yard of our house-sit

The photo shows part of the backyard of my niece’s place in a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. If you look carefully, you might be able to see two kookaburras on the back fence. There were three there but by the time I got my camera one had gone.
There is a swimming pool on the right and the guinea pigs’ enclosures are to the left. There are two bird baths near the little sitting area. Just out of the frame on the upper left is a big orange tree which has had more fruit than we could eat. None of the oranges have seeds which surprises me a bit.

@JudyEv Fallen leaves are a natural part of a yard. I don't see anything wrong with letting them lay where they fall.

@DaddyEvil Me either but plenty of my friends always complain about leaves. They don't worry me.

Looks calming, any deadly spiders or snakes in that region?

What a lovely scene you’ve described — it sounds like such a peaceful and vibrant backyard! I can just imagine the kookaburras perched on the fence, keeping watch with their curious eyes. Even catching two on camera is special — they're such iconic and character-filled birds.
It must be wonderful to have a space that brings together nature and comfort like that — with the pool, the guinea pigs, and even a fruiting orange tree! And seedless oranges straight from the tree? That is a nice surprise — and a real treat!

Yes, it's a very lovely area. The kookaburras come in most days and have a bath in the bird baths.

I see them. Last Wednesday when we were at the David Traylor Zoo in Emporia the kookaburra there sounded off quite a bit.

I think there must be a pair and a young one although there isn't much difference in size. Is there only the one kookaburra at the zoo?

It's not a very big area but has a lot of different plants in it.

Earlier you had one discussion where you had put some wooden planks... Seven of them. The seventh was already there. The dirty one as you addressed it. You had that photo. And now this one.
What I was thinking is that there is a lot of greenery around the place. And I'm an avid gardener. I just love those pots and the plants you have raised. Good!

@JudyEv Yes. I recalled. It seems like you had posted a similar picture of this corner of your house. It looks so serene and beautiful. Calm and quiet. Really a good portion of the house that makes it a sweet home.

This backyard would attract anyone to spend hours there specially relishing those oranges that have no seeds picking them off the tree.

I sometimes get a rash if I eat too many oranges so I limit myself to one a day.
