What is the main color in your home?

I have a lot of light colors in my living room, with dark wood accompanying it. My couch is red (prettier than it probably sounds), although it is on its last leg. It lasted ten years, but it’s time to get something else to sleep on (my mattress is terrible). The current couch is very comfortable to sleep on; I mean very comfortable. So what is the main color, in your living room, maybe your whole house?

@ambiepam living room kind of lilacy but not as old lady as it sounds. Teal sofa which goes better with lilacish carpet than it sounds.

The walls are white, the couch is sort of cappuccino, the cabinets and bookshelves light oak wood. The whole apartment is on the same color shades.

@AmbiePam - I like, we had dark furniture in our house in Switzerland, but I love those light colors. This apartment is so bright.

Cream. That's the color that mainly sits on our room walls. We have used the same single color for every room. So that looks symmetrical. But the thing is it's very difficult to maintain. I mean it easily gets dirty. Even any light stain easily gets noticeable. I've seen so many discussions. But it never struck me that what's the main color in your home could be a topic to discuss. Congrats for coming up with such a great topic.

Thank you. I understand what you mean about that color being hard to keep completely clean. It looks very pretty, but it’s just so hard to keep pristine.

@AmbiePam You absolutely got that on point. It's too difficult to keep it clean. And the best (worst) part is that any slightest stain is visible even from a distance.

The main areas have grey walls. A lovely grey with a slight tinge of blue? I love it. LR floor is dark laminate and furniture is brown. Bedroom walls are dark blue. Furniture is pine. I like it. I've been told I should update. Nope

No need to update when it is obviously a great blend of decor.

@AmbiePam I have to admit, decor is not my area of expertise.

My favorite color is blue; but the living room is kind of a sunset color to go with the massive stone fireplace in the middle of the room. Most of the rest of the house is in an off-white. The kitchen and Florida room are a Keys blue-ish color to go with the white wicker furniture in the Florida room. There is wallpaper in the dining room and hallway which I hate.

Is it wallpaper in general that you hate, or the wallpaper you currently have that is so displeasing?

@AmbiePam The wallpaper is green and yellow and has birds on it. I don't care for the pattern and colors.

Mostly medium blue, and light green. No couch. Glider rocker loveseat is dark red and green plaid. We have had it forever. Nothing really matches in my life.

There are several colors in my home. The living and dining room are mostly cream-white with a red wall. My bedroom is mustard. And as I haven´t painted for a long time the second floor, the walls are all bluish. Very light.

Because of my apartment complex I have to keep my walls white, but I’d paint my kitchen if I could.

I guess the main color in my house would be shades of brown. Somebody put brown paneling on the downstairs walls. White kitchen cabinets. Stained glass pieces liven up the joint.

We went into ours with everything done. It's white right through with grey tiles in the wet areas and dark carpets in the bedrooms. I'm not fond of the carpets but can't bear the thought of have to move furniture to get them changed.

White which I don't really care if. I want at least one accent wall. I could paint it myself, but would really prefer it be done professionally. I wonder how much it would cost?

Well, the walls and baseboards throughout my apartment are white/off white. I've tried to accent things with red/red-white and blue because they are my favorite colors.

This is a rental house and we signed a lease specifying we can't change the walls from stark white (which hurts my eyes) but the furniture in the living room is dark blue with dark green highlights. The curtains are dark green. At the other house, I had dark blue curtains in my bedroom and a dark blue comforter on my bed. In this house, the curtains in my bedroom are dark green with the same dark blue comforter on my bed. Pretty's bedroom is done up in dark red curtains and a dark red comforter and a black with red highlights rug.

This old ramshackle two story house with two apartment is to say the least not very colorful. My couch in what is the front room was covered in pink fabric but over the years and the cats that roamed here it really got dirty. The couch is old and was here when I came and I should get a new one but I don't want to make the expense besides it is only a small space for sitting,
