At last, a photo of Dominic

We arrived home from our house-sit just a few hours ago. I’m going to make some biscuits (cookies) soon but thought I’d put up a post first.
The photo shows Dominic, one of the two cats we were in charge of, if you can call it that. We didn’t see Dominic at all for about the first week but at the end of five weeks, he would actually come into the lounge and sit and stare at us. The least unusual move or sound and he’d disappear back to a bedroom and retreat under a bed.
He is quite friendly with two of the four boys but is very standoffish with everyone else. He moved in with the family in 2016. I don’t know if he was a rescue cat or not. I’m sure he’ll be pleased to see his family home. They arrive this afternoon and my BIL is picking them up.

What a pretty kitty. I love the way how the white decorates his face.
I remember my friend, Hank, telling me that the only sign he ever saw of my cats when he was taking care of them was when the food bowls were empty, he never actually saw either one of them.

@JudyEv - It seems like your house sitting has been quite fun for you and Vince, even if the pets do not always take to you easily. One of my daughters adopted a kitten that was found outside in a blizzard where she lives. She took that kitten in about 3 years ago, and now that cat loves everyone. It is almost as if it realizes it was rescued and it wants to be petted and hug everyone. It is so sweet!

@JudyEv - I'm glad that Dominic's family is back home. Cats are very emotional animals in their own way.

He is a handsome boy. I am sure he has missed his people and routines.

My cat Phannie tends to know when my bottom hits the couch cushion...as she is right there demanding her attention. She also knows when I have stepped into the greenhouse, which has access for her through the bedroom window, as she greets me there. She does tend to hide from the grandkids when they come over, if they are being rowdy.

Dominic is beautiful. Cats are strange. Sometimes Blackie (neighborhood cat) will come and ask for food, but sometimes I don't see him for a day or two. Pretty sure I am not the only one feeding him. Patch came by today.

@JudyEv I know he isn't really my cat, but I miss him when he doesn't show up, and also worry, as he has been in a couple of fights that we know of. He also has some age on him...we just met him and not sure how old he is, but he's probably over 4 or 5 years old from his looks and actions.

Nothing unusual about Dominic's behaviour Cats are a mysterious lot and one will never know who they like and who they do not Happy that you got to see him before you wound up there.

I'm glad everything went well at the house-sit and you and Vince are back home now. I'm sure you're both glad to be home again, too.
Dominic looks like he's saying "You wanted to see me, well, here I am."
