Dominic and Finbar are happy cats now

Our niece sent us this photo of the cats we looked after while they were away. The tuxedo is Dominic and the grey-and-white is Finbar. You can see how relaxed and happy the cats are now that we’ve gone and their own humans have returned! It’s a bit of an insult really. We would have liked to have more interaction with them but it is what it is, as the saying goes. In case you’re wondering, they were all thrilled with the new balustrading. We didn’t expect much reaction from the boys but they were highly delighted. My BIL picked them up from the airport so was able to tell us about their exuberant reaction. They are all on the autism spectrum so we didn’t quite know what to expect. Our niece emailed us to say how delighted she was and ended her email ‘With love and astonishment from us all’ which I thought was a lovely ending. So repairing the balustrade was worth all the effort.

I'm glad they were all happy about having the balustrade repaired and I was sure the cats would be happy having their humans back again.

@JudyEv Some that hare autistic are very detail-oriented, the boys must have that sense. Oh, and I thought of you a little while ago while at work. I was speaking with a Candian customer who was calling me to give me their change of address. They moved to Paragon, Australia. He was delighted to tell me how seamless and easy the move was, the culture and the people and their ways were so much like ours. I was very happy for him.

@Juliaacv I can't find a Paragon in Australia. I'm glad the move has been easy for them. It's always nice to hear that people are happy here.

I was glad the BIL was there to see their reaction. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall to see their faces.

It's interesting how pets get their names. I don't know the history behind these names.

So great the people appreciated you, even if the cats did not. Did the cats seem to notice the repaired balustrade?

They never go outside AT ALL! So they didn't see the balustrade. To each his own but I wouldn't want that for my cats. However, they showed no inclination to wanting to go outside.

Good to see Happy Cats and it is good that the family is happy as well. Cats would surely have been delighted with their regular keepers. May be you could have a revisit to their place in coming times as well.
