Have You Tried Mushroom Coffee?

I don't know if any of you have noticed mushroom coffee on your grocery shelf or an advertisement for it online, but I am curious about Mushroom Coffee after seeing an online ad earlier today. The benefits sound good, but how would it taste? That would be my biggest concern since I love my coffee! It's organic, so that is another plus. Have you seen this? Have you tried it? Your thoughts?

Since I don't drink coffee, I'm not interested in trying it. (It doesn't sound good to me.)

I really don't know what to think of it! Or if I would like it. I would try it though!

@kareng I'm sorry. I'm sure humans are the only species that purposely torture themselves by drinking/eating weird and vile substances.

Thankfully, I don’t like coffee, so I won’t try it. I’d be scared of what kind of “mushrooms” were in it!

No, I haven't noticed it in the grocery stores. I would be leary of having something with mushrooms that I cannot see the actual mushroom, but that is just me.

Mushrooms have been in the news a lot lately with all of their health benefits. Of course, that goes for the "safe" varieties of mushrooms.

@Juliaacv That is a very good point. With all the "things" being found in recalled food, that is a very valid point!

@kareng Yes, and I have read a couple of articles about some of the less healthy mushrooms, or beyond their peak mushrooms being used in things. That makes me leary that I want to visually see the mushroom so that I can decide if it looks 'good' or not. Just a worry of mine.

I’ve tried mushroom coffee a couple times, mushroom cocoa, and mushroom dark chocolate. The mushroom coffee was the best of the three, but I think I’ve tried three different kinds of mushroom coffee (they were free). I can’t say that they were better than regular, but the health benefits from the listed contents are worth a shot.

Yes, I have tried it a couple of times Thanks to Amber! It is OK. I read though there aren't any verified studies that it is beneficial for you. Nonetheless it extends my coffee.

Never tried it, but I have heard all the hype. I think it's two things; hype and fad. I am not sure there are any actual health benefits to it. But every year or two they have to come up with something to keep selling ideas. One year it's cranberries, the next it's beets, the next it's something else, and now it's mushroom coffee. lol

I agree with the hype and fad assessment. It will last until people are bored with it or realize that maybe it just doesn't work. I can't imagine what mushroom flavored coffee would even taste like and that does not really sound appealing to me.

I imagine you would not really taste the mushrooms. I got a free sample of taco seasoning that had mushrooms in it Could not taste the mushrooms. It was really good seasoning but I am not buying it. I would like to try the Crio, which is an unsweetened chocolate brew you drink like coffee.
